December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys.

I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson.

Everyone introduce yourselves!

Hi I'm Jennifer. I was sleeved on the 17th and and am back at home, still not 100% but feeling better by minute by minute. I was sleeved at Fraedtert Hospital in Milwaukee by Dr. Wallace, who was amazing by the way. My main issue right now is that I am having trouble getting all of my liquids in. I feel like I was sipping all day and only got it about 32 ounces, if not less. How is everyone else doing with their liquid intake? I'm also having more pain than I anticipated at my incision sites but they're not red or swollen or hot or anything so I'm thinking all is well. I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to pain anyway!

Officially sleeved. In so much pain. Feels like I'm having contractions not much has though.

I'm recovering well in the hospital! I'll get discharged tonight. I passed my barium leak test, and I'm tolerating water well. Wooho!

Glad to hear your recovering well!!

Atlanta red hope the new meds are helping you by now, I'm so sorry you had to go thru all that today, at least I hope it's working.

My prayers for a restful night and that you wake up feeling brand new

Surgery was Wednesday , and I'm still in the hospital. Not getting nearly enough fluids so I will be here for a day or so more. Hopefully ill be good by Christmas. Keep me in your prayers !! Good Luck to everyone who had surgery today , you will continue to be in my prayers ..

Sending prayers that you will be on the mend and discharge to go home soon.

I was sleeved the 17th. I had the worst nausea ever. Stayed an extra day trying to control it. It was and still is rather rough. Glad to be home though.

hello. I am new to this group, but I am very interested in learning from everyone. I had my gastric sleeve on 12/2/13. I know that it's going to be the best thing I'll ever do for myself. I am struggling getting in all of my protein and I am beyond exhausted everyday. I went back to work on 12/16. Has anyone else experienced this? I would take all the advice I can get. Thank you in advance.

Welcome! I wake up energized, take my vitamins, water, and get on treadmill, today did 1.75 miles - did some more water, then showered. Hubby and I headed out to get gift card shopping done, stopped and got a decaf at McDonald's and it was free today! Then made two mire stopped and I was done! Came home and drank my unjury chicken broth w protein, then crashed for nearly three hours!

I have taken at least a three hour nap all week! I hope I can get past that soon!!!

Good to hear from you so peachy! Sounds like your doing well! Glad you have a good support system at home!

I was sleeved on 12/16 and since I have been home I have been feeling very tired with no energy. Today I took some liquid b12 and I have so much energy today. And the B12 strawberry flavored liquid that I had tasted pretty good

Strawberry sounds great, mine is mixed berry and I think I would have preferred yours! I'm with you on the energy level! Naps everyday!

Hi All: I like MnWin am having a terrible time getting the liquids in. After following the plan for liquids for only one hour I feel like my stomach will burst from pressure. Been trying gas x strips. Due to the nausea I had day 2 and 3 I won't take any pain meds stronger than liquid tylenol. Is there anyone else out there that encountered this at the first and saw it get better? I very discouraged and teary because I feel so much pressure in my stomach. At this point if I could undo this surgery I would in a second.

My prayers to you cabs! Hope you can get this under control soon did you call your dr?

Jen.jones, jakec, clexi

Glad are are doing well post op and welcome! Keep us posted!

For those of you with low energy; I was told by my doctors office it was because of inadequate protein. The B 12 helps as well.

Hello I was sleeved on 12/9/13 HW 393 SW 367 CW 342 GW 185. I doing well.

Thank you for the responses. I'm glad to be part of such a supportive group. Can someone help me find the link to the weight loss thread? Thank you.
