POOP.
For me, it is a great improvement. I have Crohn's and was always on the more liquid side of poo. It has reduced my ummm capacity from 4-8 times a day to once or twice a day or I've even skipped a day or two. It is also much firmer. It is major relief to my bottom.

Insurance coverage - how do you know?
During the initial seminar, the office people requested that we contact the insurance company to find out if it was on your plan and to get the specific details. I did call them and they sent me a checklist of what was needed. Also found out that my previous attempts at weight loss within a certain time period were acceptable for the six months. Since I had my Weight Watcher weigh in books, those worked just fine for mine. I have BCBS of MI. Some of the other requirements were the office's and not the insurance.

Have pre/post op care package
Ok, I got a response right away so mine are now gone. Good luck all!

Have pre/post op care package
I also could not stand the taste of Protein shakes, soups and puddings afterwards and also have some to give away as well. Please PM me as well if you'd like me to send them to you in the US as well. These are New Directions products that were sold through my bariatric office. If you're in the Lansing, MI area I can also drop them off or arrange for a pick up.

Protein drinks
I see you're in Michigan too. Premier Protein is also sold at Meijer. Haven't tried it yet as I haven't gotten over being sick of the ones I had.

Gapapentin and the sleeve
This. At first I'd empty the contents of the capsule into something like applesauce or yogurt but now I just take them whole.

How bad is the nausea?
My surgery was Dec. 17th. I had lots of nausea/vomiting for the first week. I think my problem is that I couldn't keep up with the liquids and being dehydrated made everything worse. After getting two additional IVs after I left the hospital, I could finally keep up with it and wasn't nauseated after that. So keep up with the liquids!

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
I was sleeved the 17th. I had the worst nausea ever. Stayed an extra day trying to control it. It was and still is rather rough. Glad to be home though.

Psyche Eval Done. Not What I Was Expecting...did I Fail?
My office scheduled an hour for the test portion. It took me 15 minutes. I wish they would ask you if you test fast or slow instead of assuming everyone takes the exact same time. I could've slept in at least another 1/2 hour!

Study Tips
I'm still not sure how I got an A- in statistics. I got 37% on the last test. I think he must have graded on a curve. Anyway, I do a lot of my studying while riding my exercise bike. It keeps me AFK (away from kitchen) and gets in my workout. I get sleeved during finals so I'm planning on taking it early.

Hidradenitis Suppurrativa
Ouch! I don't know if I had hidradenitis but I have had several boils in the crotch/rectal area (Yes, it is truly a PITA.) One thing that I have found to help get rid of the boils/abscesses is the spice turmeric. For some reason it helps drain the abscess and they're not nearly as painful. I would still get antibiotics for the actual infection but turmeric was a life saver for me and basically stopped them from forming. I've heard many other good things about turmeric as well. Anyway, you can get capsules so you don't have to taste it going down or you can make a nice curry as well.

Barium Swallow Tomorrow..ugh!
I'm intolerant of the sulfate that they use in the barium sulfate. It always makes me run to the restroom. I haven't had the barium swallow test as of yet but have had many other tests with barium and I can't imagine it's worse than those...

December 2013 Sleevers Come In!
We are both surgery twins, the same age and finals twins! I have to shove finals week the prior weekend myself. I think I'll warn my husband to go and hide....

Looking for advice - PLEASE!
I also have Crohn's and am getting sleeved on December 17th. My gastro doc wanted me to have the band so that nothing would be cut out, but the more I read on the band the more it seemed that that wouldn't be good either. When I met with the surgeon, he recommended the sleeve over the band so that is what we are doing. My surgeon had already successfully did the sleeve on other Crohn's patients.
