December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Alright December Sleevers, I'm hoping that this title brings more people in so we can follow and encourage each other through our journeys.

I am 40. I'm 5'4" and about 308 right now. I'd like to get to a healthy BMI which would be around 145. I'm hoping for a December 4th or 5th date with Dr. William Johnson.

Everyone introduce yourselves!

Good luck all Dec. sleevers. I was sleeved on 12/4 and I'm down 13.5 pounds. Today is my 2 week weigh in, I've been stalled at this exact weight for 5 whole days, and I'm hoping to see the scale move soon!

Caligirl3 you are not alone!

Sleeved 12/3 and after a 13 lb loss been stalled for 6 long days! Ugh! So frustrating. It is too soon!!!!

Had to call surgeon tonight. Have some left side pain and it hurt to put my arm down by my side. He thinks it is muscle skeletal pain and to call him back if I get a fever over 100, chills or heart palpitations. Ugh can't wait to go to sleep.

I may have been unusual, but I have had no nausea. I know I was given IV's the night before with antibiotic and anti-nausea meds. I also had a drain and the "yucky" stuff left inside was draining out. So far, so good.

OK---December 18 sleevers--- you're on deck! Rest well tonight and look forward to the newness that tomorrow brings for each of you! You have many prayers and good thoughts being sent to you and to your surgical teams!

Hang on to your courage-- there are still many to come after you and you are an inspiration for us! God Bless!

Thanks again, Tarheel! I'm not sitting upright very well so have not been at my computer yet! Good luck and positive thoughts to all of the 12/19 Sleevers!

Hey, I'm on tomorrow too. :-)

Hey, I'm on tomorrow too. :-)

Thanks for stepping up so we can include you by name in our prayers to you! Best wishes!

Hi all! I'm new on here and was sleeved on 12/09. My weight the day of surgery was 224 and I'm now down to 214 (I'm about 5'4). Still experiencing the left sided pain, which my surgeon said was normal since that's the side they pull your stomach out of. I can't wait until next week when I can start experimenting with soft foods. Getting enough protein in a day is still a challenge, but it's getting easier everyday.

Good luck to everyone getting sleeved tomorrow :-)

I'm getting sleeved in the morning also! Yay!

Good luck to all the sleevers tomorrow! Hope everyone has an uneventful surgery and recovery!

Hello everyone I was sleeved this past Monday on Dec 16th. I'm trying to get into the swing of things. So far so good! Sw: 366 pre-op... day of surgery: 340... CW: 314... GW: 175

Just want to send well wishes & a speedy recovery to you all. :)

I AM FUCKING APPROVED as of this morning. Omg I am soooooo happy.. It took BCBJ of NJ 8 days including weekends. Yay ya ya my dream is about to come true omg I have been crying happy tears since this morning. Ahhhhh. Now I can take my finals in ease :)

Started phase two yesterday while at hospital. Got the ok to leave at 5 pm and had a hard time sleeping (miss that lovely hospital bed) but am moving quite a bit. What helped me was second and third day at hospital i started walking and was able to pass gas third day at hospital. Still have not been able to do a bowel movement (dec 16th sleeved) but I believe it will come in time ... Have been taking my water but the protein shakes i am not a big fan of so making it harder to have the protein and all other minerals needed (which also explains the bowel movement issue) i am still glad I made the decision and know that the discomfort will go away. Had a great surgical team from care assistants, to nurses, to anesthesiologists, hospital and doctor staff. Looking forward to seeing doc on 10 day post op and showing some great results and getting ok for phase three. Oh, lost 10 lbs so far ... Key part of the loss is pushing the gas out and walking. They took the catheter out first day and drain last day of hospital ... I was walking and that facilitated in the loss of extra fluids and gas.

You can do this. It is temporary pain for a great long term effect. Keep reminding yourself of the finish line.

Started weight pre op diet: 277

After pre op diet: 266 (11 lbs lost in two weeks of preop diet)

Weight so far: 256 (10 lbs lost while in hospital after surgery.

Goal weight: 177 (100 lbs deficit)

I am 33 yr 5'11 female.

Walk it off. That is the best advice I received and I am seeing the results.
