Limbs falling asleep.

Recommended Posts

Since surgery my arms fall asleep almost nightly while I'm asleep. I'm going to check with my surg, but just thought I'd throw it out into VST world.

Are you taking your Vitamins? How about B12? B12 deficiency can cause the problems you describe.

I've had this problem for a while (hands sometimes falling asleep at night) and I'm pre op. I asked my GP recently and she said that it sounded like carpal tunnel syndrome. She also said that many of my issues would clear up after I lost weight. I have to say though, I haven't noticed this happening since being on my pre op diet & I also have been on Vitamins for the past couple of weeks. Wonder if it does in fact have to do with Vitamin levels?

I take all the Vitamins regularly. I have a one month check up next week, suppose they will do blood work.

Thank you for the thoughts too. I'll update once I talk to my surgeon.

I had a major issue with this my first week after surgery- I thought there was something massively wrong. My friend who is a nurse said it's a common side effect of anesthesia and it would go away. I think the last time it was at about two weeks post-op. I think also for the first few weeks I was so exhausted that I would fall asleep in weird positions and then not move for like 8 hours, so I may have been causing it myself.

Good luck- I hope this resolves itself soon!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
