6 days Post still horrible gas

Recommended Posts

Am six almost 7 days PO in. Few hours and still have the worst gas! I am still on Clear Liquids until my post op. I knew that the CO2 had to pass through my body but will this clear up soon?

I never had the bad gas pains. I had to stay overnight my first night and after about 4 or 5 hrs, they made me get up and walk every hour or so. Then when I got home I took gas x because I figured I was going to get gas, but it never happened. I talked to my nurse about it and she said it was because I moved around enough to not have it. I don't know. Have you taken the gas x? Are you moving around? Hope that helps some. Good luck with your journey :)

The gas pain will pass. Just keep walking and take gas x. If you are have left shoulder pain I suggest buying Therma Care heating pad for shoulders. Remember this pain is only temporary. Good Luck.

It took 8 days for my gas pain to go away, the gas-x didn't help me, but the heating pad was my friend. Just keep walking.

You are sooo lucky the nurse told me pre op that Gas x would be my best friend! Yes I walk quite a bit because I knew to expect some since I have has two c sections before and knew that walking helps it move, that is happening but I keep getting it and now it's as soon as I drink something here comes the gas. Anyway I am well stocked on Gas X I just pray it won't last much longer!

Give it a few more days. The gas is in your body cavity, not your intestine so that's why over the counter things may not work. Use heating pads and be patient, the gas will pass, no pun intended!

Drink something warm.

Heating pad on your chest/back.

Lay flat with pillows under hips and legs.

Repeat!

My only saving grace - I tried everything else but these 3 things helped the most.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
