December Surgeries!?!?!?

Recommended Posts

Keep us posted on your surgery date. I know you must be so excited and waiting on that call tomorrow. Best wishes!

So excited! Will do. They are pushing to get me in before my deductible re-ups on Dec 1. I will try to post in real time what it feels like. I know that's the biggest unknown for me. Pain, mindset, pain, hunger, pain lol ect The feat of the unknown is the worst!

I've had my surgery date for about 3 weeks now, December 10th. My doctors office submitted paperwork to my insurance this week on Monday and I called the next day and was approved! So easy.... I feel so glad that it went through so smooth like that with no pre-reqs.

I go to the hospital on the 11th to have all the testing I guess. Pre op appt is two weeks before surgery. Wonder what is in store for me on pre-op diet. Last time for the lap band I had to do one month all liquids. I did really good though so hopefully this will be a piece of cake.

I'm really dealing with a lot of anxiety waiting for Dec 2 to get here. My surgeons office told me people have made it to the pre-op room day of surgery and walked out last minute!!! I told my friend that and she said she could see me doing that...didn't help a bit!! I'm afraid to say too much about my anxiety to the MD because I don't want them to change their minds!!! It is going to be a longing for me....

I wish I could wait until day before lol. Im not scared or "worried" I think im nervous of the unknown. How will I feel. Will I not lose weight quick enough. Will I throw up all the time. Mines a week before christmas...I think will something happen and make me miss my 1 yr olds christmas morning. And thats just a handful of what keeps me up at night. I remind myself the positives but its just what I do! Lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
