Bring some comfy and loose fitting clothes so you don't have to wear the gown for longer than you have to. Definitely need good chap stick and some slippers with traction on the bottom (I preferred those to the socks they give). I also showered my last day there so a few toiletries. And definitely your own pillow!

Don't bring much. I wore a baggy outfit and velcro sandals on surgery day and just kept it to come home in too. I probably wore it all of 3 hours on surgery day until I changed so it wasn't dirty. I brought toiletries but didn't take a shower until I came home. I could have taken one on discharge day but I figured I'd wait until I got home. The only beneficial things I really used was Chapstick, pony tail holders, CPAP machine, toothbrush/toothpaste, deodorant, slippers. I just used a second hospital gown as a robe when I was up walking in the halls. I brought my Kindle thinking I would read but it never came out of my bag. Even during the day I was so exhausted from being woken up all night for vital signs, bloodwork, etc. I really didn't do much other than walk around and sit down to watch TV.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
