How is everyone who had the revision doing? I am a little concerned that mine is slow and seemed to be stalled. I am at 3.5 months and lost 56 lbs. 61 to go. Love to hear from people.

Yes, I've been discouraged, too. I was 3 months out yesterday and have lost 45. I have about 35 to go. I keep telling myself that I'm probably slower than many because I didn't have as much to lose, therefore the loss is slower. The upside of that, according to my doctor, is that those who have less to lose often come closer to their goal. Guess I'll hang on to that. I have to remember that 45 lbs is A LOT of weight! It's hard, too, because people don't seem to notice. They comment on my "new hair style," which is the same as it's always been, not knowing that it's my face that is thinner, not my hair that is different. My husband has coincidentally lost 25 lbs and is at his goal weight. Of course, everyone comments on his great loss. I want to say, "What about ME? I've lost almost twice as much as he has!" But, I guess it's not as noticeable when you still have a long way to go.

I know you probably feel sad but might think of this way. 1 lb is one stick of butter etc 45 sticks is ALOT :) something to be VERY VERY proud of! I havent had a revision yet. Just starting the insurance process. BuT i just started weight watchers this week to help me loose some of the 45 lbs i gained back. My insurance also wants us to loose 10%. So Ww will help with that also.

I will be getting a band-to-RNY in mid april or early may. My target loss is 75 pounds. 45 pounds lost in three months doesn't seem to bad to me. My sister is almost a year out from RNY. She never had a lapband. Her initial weight loss also was seen in her face and neck and loss of a couple of chins (her words) It took a while before I could see it. She also was used to dressing in layers. Now that she is shedding her old styles, it's more noticeable. Good luck.

Thanks, I appreciate everyone's support. My troubles usually appear when I compare myself to others who had surgery when I did. I need to STOP that craziness!

Your doing awesome! Focus forward and before you know it you'll be at goal. This weight didn't appear overnight on us. It's going to take time and patience to lose it too. Worst thing to do is to compare yourself with others and weigh yourself often. It will drive you insane. Continue to shoot for your goal. You can do it!!! :)

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
