Recommended Posts

I have been trying to get 80g Protein everyday for about a week' date=' that along with 1hr walk, jog, sprint workouts is paying off. I lost 15 my first post op and 3 weeks later only 4 lbs ;(!! But so far from my appt Last Friday I am down 6 lbs!!!! Thanks to all you guys for your support and encouragement!!! I just needed a swift kick in my behind. This weight loss is not as easy as I originally thought, I have to work hard for every pound lost!

I'm looking for information on the fitbit. Any one using it? If so, which one are you using? Does it upload automatically to myfitnesspal? How do you like it?

I have had the fitbit ultra for a few months. I love it. Yes it syncs wirelessly to your computer, and then to MFP. If you have one of the new ones and an iPhone 5, it doesn't need to do it through the computer, it will just sync through the phone. Only problem is it was great before my surgery as far as calories and syncing, when you go with MFP's suggested diet plan (1200 calories etc). Since surgery I customized my diet & fitness plan on MFP so I can aim for higher Protein, lower carbs and if you do custom it won't sync to fitbit. Still great for your own idea on how much you're walking/calories burned. I would def suggest it.

Today I partnered with a friend of mine as a walking buddy. She is struggling to lose weight she gained during pregnancy. We were discussing this positive step during dinner, and my dear husband asked rudely in front of our family of many friends was interested on getting "fat surgery" like me. I was crushed and so, so embarrassed.

That's a pretty jerkish thing to say....particularly from the person that's supposed to be your life partner!!!! I'm so sorry :(

I'm sorry that happened to you. It was very rude. Can you explain to him how it made you feel and that its not a joke... Some people just don't get it.

Keep your chin up!

Awww, man, that's terrible. You have every right to feel crushed and embarrassed. I'm not sure what I would have done in your place, but right now I'm feeling very much like whoopin' him upside the head. I'm trying to remember... are you the same person who had the husband who was afraid she'd leave him when she got thin? If so, I would suspect his comment comes from a place of fear (not that it excuses him). If that wasn't you, has he made comments like this before? That is, is he supportive and just couldn't wrap his mouth around the word "bariatric," or is he really as insensitive as that comment made him sound?

Curious,

Cecilia

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
