I starting gaining weight years ago and found out it was being caused by hypothyroidism. I am on snythroid. However losing weight on my own is impossible. Despite an almost perfect diet and hours and hours at the gym I can not lose weight. It is very discouraging. I am scheduled for roux en y surgery in march. I am a self pay patient and have over 100 pounds to lose. My question is though.... Is it possible to lose weight with gastric bypass if you have hypothyroidism? I don't want to spend $22k and endure dumping and such if I am destined to be overweight because of the thyroid problem. Please please tell me how it worked or didn't work for you? Thanks so much!!!
