Hugs to all that are headed for bandland!!!!

Tracy, when I went in to the Dr.'s office with my SIL for her to get a fill, there was a woman there, who was talking really negatively about the band. She was a nice looking woman, who was actually quite thin, but her attitude about the band really sucked! She was going on and on about things she couldn't eat, and how it likely would be proven to be dangerous she figured in the next decade. I finally spoke up, saying that was not my feelings about my band at all!!! When the woman she was talking to went back to the exam room, I began talking with her, and she said she had lost 204 pounds with her band in just over 2 years. I was amazed, and ask her if she had been sick the entire time. She said she had never been sick, I told her with her down talking the band I figured she had ( I thought WTH she WAS down talking it!). She tells me she always does that, because good grief it everyone has the surgery what good did it do for her to get skinny, she likes being the successful one! I was almost too shocked for words! I ended up telling her I was trying to make sure she wasn't the only one by telling everyone who would listen about how great my band was!

Maybe this witchy woman led your so called support group!!!!

Kat

Hi girls...that's me off now...on way to the airport..

Thank you all for your support & I'll check in as soon as I can..xx

Off to the hospital in 30 minutes, amazingly I actually got some sleep last night. I did have very strange food dreams and scar dreams but they were so silly that I didn't get freaked out. I mean eat a donut and realize I couldn't and spit it out. I hate donuts! LOL

Anyway good luck to the rest of you all today, talk to you when I get back tomorrow!

Thanks for all the support. I'll be heading to the surgical center in 45 minutes. I am excited and think this is the best idea ever.

Kat817 - I've met people like that and they won't keep their weight off, because they haven't done the headwork that it takes. She is still self-centered and mean-spirited and obviously hasn't resolved how she got the weight on in the first place. As if this was a contest. OMG

I feel good, strong, healthy, and ready to be banded!

I cant wait to lose all this weight but on the same token..im scared to death! Ive eaten so badly for so long, can I be successful? Will I do this the right way? I want to succeed. Jullee -- Poor baby!! I don't know how many ways I can say it....or how many times you can read it from others who have been banded....YOU'LL BE FINE!!! I know how you feel--we've all been there. But please try to have confidence in all those posts you've read from people who have gone before you! It's not that bad....REALLY! 2-3 days and the worst is over. Have you read anyone who said, "OMG this was horrible!!! 100x worse than I ever imagined! I almost DIED on the table!!" Nah. We're all alive and kickin'!! AND LOSING WEIGHT AND FEELIN' GREAT!!! I wish I could give you a big hug!! Don't forget to breathe!! :)

Tracy - LOL... I can't wait to see how you do next week. You've been like a ROCK to all of us and your anticipation level must be through the roof right now. How do you think you'll hold up?? :)

Julee - I apologize!! I didn't read your post properly. You're afraid you won't be able to follow the 'bandster rules'!...not of the surgery itself. Forgive me.

Let me just say that, for me, when the weight starts melting off that it helps tremendously when you realize things you have to give up. But, really, the 'sacrifices' are not all that hard...because the band helps with that!! Food (for me) has taken on a whole new significance....in the fact that it's NOT nearly as important to me as it used to be. You will soon find that your focus is on other things. I love all the extra time I have now...not preparing, eating, worrying about FOOD!! It truly is a new kind of freedom and I'm lovin' it.
