Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Judy you are probably the HIPPEST preachers wife I've ever met!!!!!! You are sooooooooooo funny! Screaming Blonde!!!!!

Laura: The only thing I can think of is that you've lost in places you didn't measure........ either that or.. you thought you measured the same exact places (ie boobs, waist, upper arm) but really you were off a bit..... I know it sounds confusing ... lets say you measured your upper arm as one point... well maybe last night you were further up your arm than the last time.. I dunno......... but WAYCOOL on the poker! sounds like fun!

Jennifur: How did the interview go?????????? This was the foodband right?

I ate way to much lunch......... I had sloppy joe meat with crackers.. I feel like a pig.

Jenn - Did you call the food bank to let them know how very, very interested you are in the job? Employers like enthusiasm!

OMG-----I don't think this has ever happened---it says I am the only one active on this thread right now!!! LOL

Well Rick's appointment was a little anticlimactic. He didn't get bad news, just no overwhelming "you're cured!" either! He is now wearing an event monitor. Similar to the holter monitor he wore prior to surgery, but this one is less cumbersome. It has 2 EKG type leads, and the little box is like the size of an old protable tape player or transistor radio. When his heart does something abnormal, or he feels something he feels is not right he presses the event button, and it records an EKG type reading, then he calls an 800# and lays the speaker of the phone over the device, and it makes all kinds of noise like a fax machine, and it receives the print out of the event. It will store up to 3 events, then needs called in. If they are Dr. worthy then we hear from the Dr. otherwise, it is on with our day. Now he has to wear this thing all the time except in the shower, for 30 days! He is allergic to the adhesive, so we should have a nice reaction after that many days! But they have to see what he is doing on a day to day basis to see if they can begin weaning him from some medications. However before we even got out of the parking lot, it recorded an event, and has recorded I think a total of 7 in less than 24 hours. While that sounds scary, we have not heard from the Dr, and they did say a loose lead, or a sudden bump or things can send an event. So maybe it isn't bad.

He is up and around and doing his thing. Today is his 47th birthday, so he is celebrating----he is building a woodshed! I was helping him, but then my brother showed up, and there isn't much excess room, so I come in the house!

We bought the things he needed to build his next motorcycle trailer while we were in Albq. yesterday. This one is already sold, so he really needs to get it done! The guy picked up the other one this morning, on his way to Sturgis, and was thrilled, he said he will give his # to anyone who asks about it. Trouble is, coming up with all the parts he uses if we have to buy them new cuts into profit!!!

Anyway it looked good, the man was totally happy with it---Rick was proud of the way it turned out.

I made Rick a huge breakfast---and had trouble eating any of it myself. I over ate last night, at dinner, then sat there in not really tight pants, but sitting in a car in non stretch jeans for 3 hours----I don't think it allowed my food to move right, or something I ate didn't pass well. I don't hurt, but I have no room to eat much. I am drinking without issue, so will take it easy, and I will behave when we go out with the kids tonight.

Tomorrow night, we are going to the Bar D with Ricks company people. It is a big ranch, they serve a chuckwagon meal, have a stable, and a train around the place, there are curio shops, and a blacksmith shop...and they have the meal and then some country entertainment....comedy and music. OLD country stuff mostly. It is all done outdoors in the mountains. I enjoy most of the guys he works with and their wives, so it should be ok. I will get to take care of Kinsey I would imagine. My DD's ex works for the same company, and he ask to take Kinsey, but when he does that, and there are people around, he is usually dumping her on me---lucky for us we don't consider that a bad thing, we love having her with us. I haven't had her all week, and I miss her something fierce!

Well I am going to go check the progress of the woodshed---see if they need any guidance!!!!

TTYL!

Kat

Good Morning, Violets.

Ethan is coming over for the day today so I won't be able to get my rail painting completed. But I don't mind.. I love taking care of him.

Jenn... I'm sure I won't be ahead of you for long!! The only area that I didn't lose any inches on was my thighs and I'm sure that's because of all the biking I've been doing. I FINALLY lost 1/2" on my arms. That's the first time I've shown a loss in that area!!

Time to go fix my cottage cheese and blueberries!!

Everyone have a good day today!!

And Jenn... owies on the toes!!! Been there, done that, but only one at a time.

Good morning violets!!

YAY, its Saturday!! I have all 3 of the kids here this weekend. Macy is happy that her bubba & sissy are here for her to play with. She really misses them when they are not here, but when it is time for their visit, she is on cloud 9. I am so glad that she is close to them. It is amazing to me how there are so many half brothers & sisters in the world that do not even know each other!

Now, what to do with them this weekend....I would like to bring them to the city pool but just me with all 3 of them is too scarey for me. My DH is working so I am limited on what I can do with all of them. I just would not be able to live with myself if someting happened to one of the kids on "my watch". My ex-wife-in-law (dh ex wife) would never forgive me if something happened to one of her kids on my watch, but then again, I do not blame her. SO, we will do something out of the water....lol

There are not really any good movies at the theater right now, at least nothing that would keep the 4 year old quiet. The 2 older ones just had their birthdays, so I will bring them shopping so they can spend their birthday money we gave them. That outta be a joke...

But, if they get unruly I can just use the mothers words like "if you keep misbehaving, we will just go home and I won't buy you anything". That is always good for about 5 minutes of good behavior. ;)

Everyone have a great day!! WWJD?!!

How about spending their money at Hobby Lobby? They can each get a craft project to work on. Looks like it's gonna be that kind of day!

When was the last time you went to the Museum of Natural Science?

YIKES!! There is not enough money in the world to get me to weigh at night!! ;) You are braver than I

am. For me to weigh anytime other than morning is just asking for heartache!!

Morning ladies. . .

I am up because I had to go to the bathroom so badly I can't stand myself. - so it is 8:34 nd i got 71/2 hrs sleep, that is like an eternity to me lately so I got up. I want to get some sun today and relax. Tonight is oven night and we have a huge catering job tomorrow that we need to prep for tonight. I really want to go to church tomorrow so I hope I can get up. I need to be there

Anyway. Terry - I was cracking up... some days I weigh myself all day and still gain in the am, I never get it. I'm learning to back off the scale. Speaking of which , after a long hard night and feeling bloated this am... I am still at 219, so I think maybe on my day off I might loose something this week. I think I would see the numbers go down if I was not working in the conditions I was.

Judy - I have lost 4inches in my arms - that excites me. my hips are my problem area - i've lost 10 inches there but that seems to be the place that is not moving now. I am just so stinking happy i'm missing 41 inchesI have never accomplished so much in so little time. I lost weight with LA Weightloss before and was only 5 lbs lighter than I am righ now, my belly was flatter, but I am in the same place... so who can complain about that, I never thought I would be here again.

now that I am done carrying on like a crazy woman... I am going to drink another cup of coffee and maybe go to the store with my mom and then bake in the sun

What about rattattui?? that is suppose to be a great movie. Of course the simpsons is not really for children, but me being such a bad mother, both my 3 & 13 year old love them. It was a good movie.

Have fun with what ever it is you do... can't wait to hear

... it's time to wax my eyebrows... they're getting whacky...

...Also, I play texas hold-em poker...

I'm a Poker Chick, too! I play all the time: casinos when I can, a weekly home game, a monthly game, poker rooms, and (the dreaded) online.

My dream is to play professionally.

Yikes.. we must all have the eyebrow vibe...

I need to get mine done today, too! LOL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
