No 299 today!

I got my engagement ring last night. We were engaged long before he could afford the ring, so he finally gave it to me last night! It doesn't fit. It's kind of a NSV, but also it's really disappointing. He had bought it in TN and they don't have a local store, and if I have someone here resize it, it voids all warranties. It fit when we were sizing rings originally.. but now I've lose weight in my sausage fingers and it's way too big.. falls right off  :P :P

I'm afraid to resize it now, since I'll likely have to resize it again in a few months...and everytime they resize they have to take the diamond out, and yadda yadda.. so I'm trying to find a store that has those rubber tube sizers. The metal ones would make me itch and break out.

Waaaah I finally got an engagement ring and I can't wear it!

Is it me or is it quieter than normal in here today??

Ok here's something NOT to do... I had lunch locally today & had just taken a bite when a woman I know appeared out of nowhere & launched into a tirade of questions for me..(she's lovely though)

anyway, embarrassed by the sudden realisation that I had food in my mouth that would require more chewing than she would have understood, I spent a second impersonating a deer in headlights. I though about spitting it out, but that would have been VERY strange to anyone who would have seen it, so I swallowed...without chewing as I would have liked!!! OMG...

I waited for some sort of bodily reaction, answering her questions while scanning the distance to the loo and whether it was vacant or not...But

no need...I seemed to be ok!! Now I have been sliming since and feel a sensation AGAIN but this time I was chewing 20-25 times!!! LOL

I think I need a sign for my back

"Will not talk while eating...must chew"

Anyway, I'll be out of action for a few days I'm going to an out of town wedding of a very dear friend of mine...wed-sat (I told you these weddings are crazy & LONG!!!)

Try not to miss me too much, although of course you know I'd feel better if you all did (well, even if someone does!! LOL)

Good luck to you all over the next few days & stay strong & consistent....xx Wish me luck with the barrels of Guinness..xx:kiss2:

I think its been quiet due to the problems with the boards (they need to quit messin with it!!)

Good luck with the job search Jennifur, if you lived closer I'd get you a job here, we're hiring in accounting and reception. It's a nuthouse right now.. I'm in sales, but I know the accounting, so I've been having to work both jobs while they try to find a replacement for the girl who is SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING.. need someone here who needs a job..the lady in accounting's husband just retired and she just had her first grandbaby, so she's been 'sick' 4/5 days a week for 2 months now. It's a headache.

Pam -- you cracked me up w/the "surrender." When I read it the picture that popped into my mind immediately was from The Wizard of Oz when the witch skywrites "Surrender Dorothy"... except I saw "Surrender Michelle" -- I like it! :)

Tracy -- Yay on the walking! I walked yesterday, too, at the park near our house, and I'm *planning* on walking there this eve, too.

Lunasa -- Have fun @ the wedding... chew & chew & chew!!!!!

Laura -- oh how wonderful that you got your ring... bummer on the size... but I guess it's a good thing too! The plastic sizers are great! Take a pic of your hand w/the ring on so we can see it -- pleeeeze!

Kat -- Your invite is wonderful! I'm a professional editor, and I approve, and trust me, my dh would tell you that I ALWAYS find SOMETHING wrong with EVERYTHING! ;)

Terry -- Great job w/the exercise. That will be the hardest piece of this whole puzzle for me (well, once I get thru this week & actually get the ding-danged band!)... I'm so not an exerciser... but that is the "old" me talking... I need to change that to a more positive affirmation: "I enjoy exercise. I feel great after I walk." Ta Da!

Sorry if I missed someone... I'm not even supposed to be on here right now! Darn RL! Gotta dash... have a great eve everyone!

Just got back from Fill #2 and WOWSER ;) can I feel a difference!!

Got filled by a NP and she told me I had lost 1/2 of the 1.5cc fill I had on May 4. We opted to re-fill with Optipaque this time and she added another 0.5cc....bringing my total to 2.0cc. Gotta stay on fluids today. Had a smoothie for lunch and it took me 45 mins. to get it down. I'll keep you posted!

Terry,

I really hope my 2nd fill does the trick like yours!! Congrats! (I think) I am going on vacation to Florida on June 1st and then when I get back I get my second fill. I think its June 13?? maybe 14th. I had sushi today and am so full!! I love to snack on edemame because it's just pure Protein. I am glad for you and getting your second fill. Is yours the 4cc band like mine?? Let me know.

Tracy....I'm afraid I can't offer a definitive explanation about why Fluid escapes the band. I can tell you that the release I had to sign acknowledges that even the doctors don't understand why it happens. What they DO know is that this leakage is usually prevented when you replace it with Omnipaque, which is a more viscous fluid. Inamed hasn't tested the band with anything other than saline, so won't allow it to be implanted with anything but saline. I had to sign a release saying that I understood all of this before allowing the injection of Omnipaque. My alternatives were 1) replacement of the band, with no guarantee that it won't happen again; and 2) continue to use saline with the understanding that it will require a higher level of maintenance. There has been no record of any adverse affects of using the omnipaque, but it has not been studied long-term either. I trust my doctor completely. If he says it's OK, then it's OK with me, too.

Hi there my purple pals!

Wow, I wish I had caught Lunasa before she left, I'd love to know if she has a way to get the music to the song she posted. My Dad was a Navy man even, so it would be great!!!

Kity, my niece is singing the Tanya Tucker song called Strong Enough to Bend. It is very fitting, and they both like it too....so it will be sang at some point in the reception, they are thinking about what they want sung in the church, and my DD is doing a reading out of 1st Corinthians, the verse that starts out "Love is patient, Love is Kind...." They both are very strong in their faith, and like the passage.

I ordered these 5 & 5 1/2 foot tall plastic clings of a male and female Hawaiian dancers. In all the hula skirts & stuff. I am mounting them to a piece of wafer board, and cutting out the faces, so people can stand behind them with their face through a hole, on the perfect Hawaiian body. I rented 6 umbrellas today, with the grass skirt type stuff on them. I can pick themup on Thursday and return them on Monday he said, and I rented them for $18.67!!! I was surprised! I have tons of grass skirts, and grass table skirts, and enough of the short type with flowers to skirt the top of the porch---makes it look like a hut! My neighbor just took a bar out of his den, he was going to tear it up, I convinced him to let me use it first! Going to turn it into a Tiki Bar, and have it set up as a drink station...tea, lemonade, tubs with Water & soda. I have a sign that says Tiki Bar Open. I bought 6 assorted beach balls to toss around the yard today and 6 pink flamingo yard stakes (gotta love the Dollar Store for these parties!!!) I had already bought over 70 of the little plastic leis, and coconnut mugs for my folks---lots of cute festive serving items. Today I found a guest book, with pictures pages in it, and bought some picks to stick in the flowers with the 50 on them. Bit by bit. I only have one brother, and he is disabled, both physically and mentally, so this is my show---and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed!

Mdrai---I would much rather hear there was a problem with the invite from a friend, than send it out with mistakes!!! Thanks!!!

Laura---I hear your pain over the ring. I have not worn mine in about a year now. I am now in a loose 8---I have to watch or they slide off. I don't want to have mine sized until it is final. Til then, I am wearing a band to match his. I bought it, and when I bought it as a size 8 it was too small. What I will wear when this one falls off, I have no idea! I truly miss my real rings though. Did you have a romantic proposal? I always tease Rick that he proposed to me in the bathroom!!! Which he did kinda, but it was done with much thought, and was very sweet!

It turned off cold here today! I have on denim capris and a t shirt---and think I will go hunt up some sweats!!

Speaking of clothes. I have some that need new homes. Several shirts, say a dozen or so, and some capris. They would be in the 3X range. Casual, t-shirt style. Not dressy! I'd be glad to send them off to anyone interested, or if you know of someone you have heard on another thread that could use them, I'd be glad to give them away.

OK off to find my winter clothes!!!

Hang in there Jennifur----that job is going to find you----at just the right time. Congrats on the degree!!! Madam graduate!!! We are proud of you!

Kat

kat- nope, I got the most unromantic man on the planet. We've lived together for years, he knew I wanted to get married, so it became me going 'when are we gonna do this?' and it wasn't all that fun.. and he finally got on one knee (I was watching one of my judge shows--so I paused it), and he said will you marry me? I laughed and said 'duh' and then I said 'we're suppose to kiss now'. So we kissed, and that was that. He was apparently re-proposing this week at some fancy restaurant when he had the ring.. but I dunno, I guess since we been together so long, this isn't all exciting and romantic.. I'm excited to finally have a ring, but it wasn't like in the movies where the girl is blown away, had no idea, etc. I am going to be excited and giddy at the wedding, just cause it's a big event about ME.. er, I mean US. ;)

But, apparently he's still takin me to the fancy restaurant and has some big speech worked up.. I just got the ring early cause he knows it bugs me to be going to all the wedding planner stuff and I don't even have a ring on.. So speaking of which.. here it is..

lalaengagementring.jpg

Also, I finally took my first 'after' pics last night, im looking at them side by side right now.. it's not a huge difference, but I can tell! YAY!

Good Evening Violets...........

Well I drove home from work and the entire way home I was coming up with excuses NOT to walk to my sons daycare and just stop by and pick him up with the truck. it was quite commical because I literally heard my violets telling me to suck it up and JUST DO IT! So I DID!!! I walked to my sons daycare and then was forced to walk home....... it is .6 of a mile one way.. so 1.2 miles in all........... not big distance but it is EXERCISE! yay me... and I had to get on line and tell you all about it.

We had scrambled eggs with cut up sausage for dinner.... so packed with protien...... and I drank 80 oz of Water today....

Thanks Terry for the info.. I've heard others on here use the Omnipaque.

Laura: AWWWWWWWW such a pretty ring and such PRETTY YOUNG HANDS!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
