One of the doctors I saw put me on Phentermine to help me lose the 20 pounds I need to lose before surgery. Now while on these pills, I still get hungry but not starving, and if I can't find something I really want to eat, I don't want to eat at all! I just left the grocery store in tears because I couldn't find anything I wanted and just didn't want anything. I know I HAVE to eat. My boyfriend thinks I should stop the pills. I'm really thinking about it. I like not being as hungry, and I'm scared if I don't lose the weight my surgeon won't do the surgery, but I really think they're messing with my moods.

Do you see a nutritionist? If not I would suggest one and ask them for a meal plan you can follow step by step without you having to even think about it... Problem with the store is there are too many choices and it can be overwhelming when you are trying to lose weight. Good luck

Unfortunately not anymore. My insurance doesn't cover the Nutritionist and its over $300 each time I go. I still have a bill from the last time I was there that I am trying to pay.

U have to watch those pills because they can make your heart race and you can become jittery if you don't eat. Just take bites of healthy thing like salads and fruits. Or do half sandwich and Soup things like that. But you have to eat something

I wouldn't worry about a nutritionist. Basically you can get all the advice you need from people like us who are going through the same as you. ;)

I've been on Phentermine several times and each time I did get moody and very emotional. I was able to lose weight on them, but as soon as I went of them and the appetite returned I gained again.

How long have you been on them?

Been on them since Dec. 21st and he just doubled my dosage. It's just to help me lose the 20 lbs before surgery because I was having a lot of trouble on my own. My surgeon said as long as I stop them a week before surgery it's fine. I have noticed on the few days that I forgot to take it I was more hungry than when I take it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
