Newbie-December 20 Surgery Date

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I am super excited to be on here! I am excited about my surgery because I have been waiting for this pretty much my whole life.

I have been dieting since I was 10. I have done everything from Nutrisysyem to Weight Watchers and everything in-between. In 2009 I had Lap Band surgery and actually lost more weight when they took it out in late 2011.

When they took out my lapband they found out I had an enlarged liver which now I know is fatty liver and nonalcoholic sclerosis of the liver. Two months later I was also diagnosed with diabetes. It's definitely been a bit overwhelming.

But now I am starting this journey. I know this isn't going to be an easy road but it is one I can't wait to travel!

My surgery is December 20th and I just wanted a place I could talk with others on this same journey. I know many people suggested to post here first, so now what? Any suggestions?

Welcome tnnorton and congrats on your surgery date. I'm a lapband to rny revision as well. Even though the lapband was removed, it's still considered revision.

Posting here is the best start to intro yourself as far as what's next.....Hope on into other posts on the boards, do lots of reading and ask questions. :)

Welcome to the boards!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
