Sorry to hear so many of yall are sick I went thru that too and first off I found out I had a infection on my tongue due to the meds when I was in the hospital something like a yeast infection, but another thing that helped me was green tea with ginger root I used fresh ginger root with splenda it is wonderful u have to slice the ginger root. I made my tea in a small pot put enough ginger to cover the bottom of the pot add Water and ur tea bags. If any1 tries it I hope it helps.

I was at the ER yesterday for dehydration and a UTI and he came to see me. He said that some people just go through this phase and I got an RX for it but nothing really seems to help.

The chewable papaya enzyme helped me more than the prescription did for nausea. I'm not sure about the uti. I normally drink cranberry juice but that has alotvif sugar. Maybe you can dilute it with Water.

I have nausea also. Just brushing my teeth makes me vomit! I wasn't this bad when I was pregnant. Foods I used to like I now don't. Just the thought of eating it is enough to make me hurl. My sense of smell is so keen its nauseating. Idk if this is normal, but I hate it. Sometimes I wish I didn't do this to myself.

I was exactly like the way u r I could not finish brushing my teeth I would wake up at night just to vomit because of the taste in my mouth :( it lasted about 2 weeks and meds did not help. just 2 days ago I started feeling better I can now brush my teeth without vomiting. I was also regretting it but I couldn't change it. It will go away. hopefully soon try eating yogurt every 2 hrs even if it makes u sick that's what I did and found it helped my dr also prescribed Prevacid. Have u called you're dr?

I do take prilosec that the doc prescribed for 3 months after surgery. Today, I couldn't hold anything down, not even crystal light. Tomorrow, doc wants to see me, may need an endoscopy.

I really am scared of the nausea aspect or possibility of it. I think I can handle the pain better than the nausea. Hope you find an answer.

Nausea, nausea, nausea!! It's AWFUL! Someone mentioned the Papaya chews, ... My dearest mother went to GNC for me & they have "sugar-free papaya chews!"

Heaven sent!! I've sworn off ANY sweetener, artificial or not. It throws me right into the nauseated 'dumping' episode!

Things have calmed down.

I'm drinking fresh Water with a smidgen of fresh lemon - cuts the dry mouth. Herbal teas, no sweetener! Skim milk, Greek yogurt..One neighbor made a pot of fresh chicken noodle Soup. We blended that up in the Ninja - yum! My other neighbor cooked some organic carrots, added some salt & blended them for me. Then she made tapioca pudding for me also.

I have wonderful friends & neighbors!

Hope everyone has a restful night...

Any suggestions on the gas pains???

Dawn

Not good Nikkiba, must eat/ drink... Even if you just get your tongue wet!! Are you eating something that is causing the nausea? I found that anything with sweetener did it for me...once I got rid of that, and started the sugar free papaya chews (GNC) things took a turn around.

Thinking of you!!

I constantly drink decaffeinated green tea with fresh ginger root. I make my tea in a small pot and slice ginger root and I use splenda. It worked great for me right after surgery. Hope it helps if u try it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
