I know it's so weird how I've waited a whole year to be approved and now that its real I'm super scared not to freak anyone out but dose anyone know death rate some people say 1-50 which I think is crap others say 1-200 and then 1-1500 who the hell is telling the truth because I am really freaking out!!!! I have 5 kids so I'm just trying to get some real answers plus I'm in Scottsbluff Nebraska and my surgeon has done more lap/bands than any other hospital in Colorado' date='Wyoming ect. But it dose not say much about bypass I know he's done Beriatric surgery sience the 80s and had an award for banding but the hospital it's self has a crappy reputation ;([/quote']

Holy crap that's a lot if kids lol I am 33 and have the following 19years 16 years 15 years 13 years and 11 years. Ooh and I have a 1 1/2 grand son. I had my pre op today the Internal dr said that the death rate is actually less . He said they say its high to scare off people and scare them to lose weight. Like seriously . I have lots to live for and as I see we all do.

Wow!! All the kids!! :-). It's so cool!

Anyway I'm scared too. It's hard not to be but I keep thinking I can't get this weight off My dad died last year at 61 from a heart attack. I know his lifestyle and weight were a major cause. You don't want that to be us. Even though I'm 40 I miss him terribly. You want to be there as long as possible for your kids and wonderful grand babies!!!

Congrats on your date worm!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I drove my husband crazy last night with all the worrying, if even went as far as to say I'm going to cancel my surgery because I'm nervous.

I know if I dont get my surgery I'm going to die young, I'm 29 and my mom passed away 3 months ago at the age of 57 from a heart attack/ heart disease.

ugh! I hate this feeling especially when I fought hard won my appeal and now this.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
