Just Discharged And Heading Back To The Er

I did a barium swallow this morning with about 6 big gulps of 2 different bariums. I thought that was already alot. Then i get back to.my room and ask for ice chips, no water or ice in over 24hrs. The nurse comes back with a huge jug of ice water saying to do my best to get 4 small cups of water in. Basically just spit up a blood clot with blood....my hospital is an hour away...

    Amazing how different each hospital is. The first day I had nothing but, the surgery and IV, Second day in the afternoon swallow test...had to wait in that radiology room for 30 minutes, back to my room and was given a medicine cup and 1 cup of ice chips and Water. Told to sip 1 medicine cup an hour. Later on nurse ordered me liquid dinner....SF Jello, chicken broth, tea, carnation instant Breakfast with skim milk. Next morning same stuff and out the door. I don't understand why they'd just give you water then have you go home.

    How long were you in the hospital? I sure hope you're doing ok.
