Upper Left Pain Below Sternum

Recommended Posts

Hello, I had Gastric Bypass May 9, 2012 & I've been doing great until I started having nausea this week. I have been slowly introducing meats this week & following my diet but they all make me very ill except for turkey lunchmeat. I've had vomiting off & on all this past week. I spoke to my dietician & she has given me options to try different things but nothing even phenegran has stopped me from getting sick. When I woke up this morning I had my Breakfast & couldn't keep it down. After gettin sick this AM I felt something pull in my stomach on the left & I've been in pain all day. I don't know if it's just a strain or what but its very tender. I did have a similar pain several weeks ago but lower near my drain site but that was from over exercising on the bike the second week post op. This pains just been more intense & up higher. I have a larger incision site & drain site on that left side that I had a lot of pain with post op so maybe I'm still healing & the strain from being so sick pulled a muscle. Has anyone else experienced these issues? Sorry for the long message, I'm new to the forum so I'm full of questions. Thanks for your help!

I've had pains in the same area and when I asked the dr about it he said it was gas pains. It may not be the same but could be.

It could be...I may need to just try something to help that and see if it makes a difference. Getting up and down causes a lot of pain too. Thanks for your reply :)

Tried gasx, pepto & tums....still hasn't helped. I guess I'll have to call the Dr tomorrow. The pain is terrible. All my restrictions were lifted so I don't understand why I'm not completely healed yet. I keep having this side pain, hopefully will be gone soon.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
