Before / After Gastric Bypass Surgery Pictures

Recommended Posts

My name is Angel. I want to have the Rny done. There are a lot of complications for me to have it done. I have primary pulmonary arterial hyperestion for which there is no cure. The pic I put up is me weighing in at my most 452 I'm down to 372 on my own I have to be @ 350 before they would discuss it any further. ALMOST THERE thank the Good Lord. If anyone can give me any pointers it would be great. Ty

That is so awesome Angel. This pre-op weight will REALLY help in motivating you post-op, at least from what I hear from folks who have had the bypass. I had to lose some too for the band and I haven't been told to lose additional for the bypass schedule July 9. I'm hoping too lose at least about 10 lbs before surgery to help jump-start and get me more motivated. Your story (and the others on here) are definitely helping me stay focused. How did you lose your weight so far - protein/low carb/portion control/exercise? Bottom line - you are doing so well!!!!!!!!! I'm sure your surgeon and medical staff will be super excited too.

This is me at 372. I really just been eating a lot of salads and trying to be more active. I need to have a total knee replacement as well. But I can feel a lot of difference in my knee since I have lost weight. It's hard being as active as I WANT to be. Because of the PAH but I give it all I have. Now that I've found this I have support from those who UNDERSTAND! Weight problems. TY all for being here for me and being with me at the beginning pre. surgery. Ty a lot .

Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! So awesome. thanks for sharing :)

Here are some of mine. My revision band-to-RNY is schedule for July 9. Liquid-only starts June 25. I'm super excited and this social networking support site has been SO helpful. Thanks to you all.

pre-Lapband (2008 = 365ish)

around op day band (318ish) - - lost weight pre-surgery as part of the insurance requirement.....which was a good jump start!

post-band (lowest 2010 = 270ish)

pre-revision band-to-RNY (May 2012 Now 318ish)...I just keep reminding myself that at least I haven't gained what I lost pre-band! :)

I'll post some pics BEFORE surgery on July 9. I'm hoping to lose some weight before then...and I'm assuming the glorious liquid diet will help ;)

Your a good looking guy "Shhhh don't tell my hubby" lolz... I can see the difference you even look younger now.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
