Hi Leslie

I don't think that there's a possibility to have RNY WLS and not been admitted. I'm not sure is RNY is classify as major surgery (but I think so) but why I know is that it requires to be an In-Pt since serious complications may develop right after surgery (DVTs being one of the scary ones) and later as well.

I think doctors want to make sure they are sending us home as safe as possible.

Regards,

Yodelania

my bariatric center requires you stay in the hospital 2 nights.

They told me from day one to expect a 2-3 day hospital stay and mine was two days. I would be very cautious about any surgeon that suggested RNY can be done on an outpatient basis.

I only stayed 1 night but my Doctor told me I could go whenever I wanted. I wasn't getting any rest in there so I went home.

I think it depends on how they do your surgery mine was laparoscopic I had 5 small incisions

Wow, I assumed you would be required to stay, the next day you get x-rays done to make sure there isn't any issues, you walk around, have to go potty and then you get released. I've had lap band before and was there one night and this one is even more major <~ if that makes sence.

I stayed for 3 days from what I understand you have to get an upper gi done to make sure everything is a go and also you have to be up walking and taking in at least 4 ozs in an hour

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
