Hey Raquel , I'm going to the dr on the 5th so I won't go on a scale til then. I heard it takes a couple of weeks to really start losing. We'll see I look and feel much better though!

Well I am Hispanic so what I did is make a pot of beans. I didn't do canned. So I would add more of the liquid to make them less thick.

Best of luck. I'm a little over a week post op. I didn't sleep much either the night before. You'll sleep plenty tomorrow!! Best of luck!!! And just so you know, so far, I can't think of one reason that I would regret having this surgery so far!! You will do great!

I also think that I would seek out another bariatric surgeon for a second opinion so to speak...but despite all of that God be with you and may you get well sooner than soon.
Lord, In Jesus' name bless this woman with good health as well as perseverance . Let her not forget that in her darkest hour that you are forever by her side. Lord we ask that you rebuke ill health and all negativity keeping our friend from a healthy recovery. Touch her Lord...in your sons name we pray.... Amen

I was a smoker at the time of my surgery. But prior to that I was told to quit. My surgeon said he knows it's hard to quit. So he said at least the day before surgery no smoking at all. The wonderful thing about this is I haven't had a cigarette since April 21st.

It is possible that the records you already have are sufficient. My best friend had been going to her doctor once a month prior to her initial consultation, and the ins company accepted it! She had her surgery two months after the seminar. Stay positive!

I went this morning and was a little bummed. No date yet, just another appointment and then maybe a date. I really thought today was THE day! I dont know why. They are now submitting papers for revision and i'm hoping no further testing will be needed. And i really dont want to keep waiting like raquel

I am having a revision as well. I had Lapband in 2008 and didn't lose as I should have and have opted for RNY. I don't have an exact date yet but it will be end of June so I'm not too far behind you

Went to the nutritionist yesterday and need to take a half-day course (May 17), but surgeon's office just scheduled (insurance approved!) the surgery! July 9. WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! SUPER EXCITED! Can't believe it's happening.....and so quickly. I hope the process remains so smooth - and hope the same for all of my RNYTalk friends on here!

John there's risks involved if you don't have the surgery and you can die from that as well! And have you heard success stories? I have three friends who had it done and it was the best decision they ever made! Go hang out at your doctor's office with patients who have had it done from your surgeon and get feed back from them, where I'm going they offer support groups which I plan to attend, I think it's awesome to be able to share with someone who can relate to what you are going through. Good luck and I wish you the best!!

That makes me so nervous as I am only two weeks out. When did that start for you?

That's why I didn't tell many people. I did my research and there's more success stories than horror stories. You also have to realize that some people don't do what they are supposed to do. Then they won't to blame the doctor.
