6 Week post opp today but yet I'm not really eating anything, like today I've only had two tablespoons of yogurt a packet of quavers twe little pieces of meat and a packet of French fries. The quavers and French fries are the only thing that I can eat without any pain or making me sick. I am not losing any weight either, is there anybody else who has had the same kind of experience

Sharon... first off. Congrats on your surgery. A couple of questions.... are you drinking your Water? Have you talked to your surgeon about the pain you are experiencing?

I know it makes things a lot more difficult when you are unable to eat what you should, but you really should not be having a lot of pain at 6 weeks. When you do eat, are you chewing everything to mush? Not sure what kind of meat you are eating, but it could be adding to your pain (meat can be hard to break down and digest)

I am by no means a doctor, so my best suggestion would be to call yours.

As to your other issue of not losing weight, I did have the same problem. I was eating way too little and my body was letting go of nothing. At the stage you are at I would not tell you to eat more, but mention your concerns about the lack of loss when you see your surgeon about the pain.

Not sure what quavers are but I know french fries aren't a good thing because they're fried. I figure its like being a newborn you have to keep introducing yourself to new things (healthy of course) so that you'll have a nice variation in your diet. Also you still need to be very focused on your Protein intake at 6 weeks. Also are you exercising?

Hope you start to feel better: )

yea i would deff stay away from french fries. they arnt the best choice. and usually the bad choices are the easier things to eat. idk y but i kno it sucks. if u want fries i would do sweet potato fries and bake them dont fry. my mom makes them fresh and theyre amazing with a lil salt and pepper

Hya thanks for replies , when I say I can manage French fries , they are a small packet of baked potato chips with about 83 calories in them ! No way can I manage real chips yet ! I am probably drinking about 1 and a half bottles of Water a day ! That's all I can manage , I have coffee throughout the day too !

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
