Waiting to schedule surgery :)

Recommended Posts

Just putting this out there, I will be having my surgery in December (I'm a teacher). I am beyond excited!! I kept it quiet at first because I live in a small town and I didn't want it to spread all over town then I not get approved. I am an open book and have already started educating other overweight people in my town about the sleeve. My pet peeve is this: when people say to me "oh ypu are taking the easy way out,"

Why do people say this!? Surgery is NEVER the "easy way out".

First off, congratulations on your surgery! All your hardwork has paid off and soon you'll be so much lighter. It's so worth it.

Because a lot of people don't understand that the sleeve is just a tool and everything that was a problem before mentally is still there.

Don't get me wrong, I sometimes think to myself, "I did take the easy way out. I lose so easily now," but in actuality I can screw up. I can drink a lot of high calorie drinks. I could sit and eat ice cream forever (It just SLIDES through!)

So yes, the surgery makes eating better a high probability due to low hunger which makes positive choices a lot easier, it's still up to us to make the choices. No amount of surgery can determine that. :)

This is not the easy way out. That's why I'm not telling everyone btw it's not their business anyway. My day is October 14. I'm feeling kinda nervous but excited and not believing it's really finally gonna actually happen.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
