When can I start sipping on some coffee? ? I add no sugar or cream. I loveee coffee just miss it so much. Happy Friday to you all!! :)

It was given to me in the hospital on my tray, along with Water and a strawberry Protein shake. Dr said I could drink moderate coffee right away. I waited 2 weeks however, for fear the temperature would cause a staple line leak. Silly, I now know. I haven't gone a day without coffee for about 10 yrs but since I wasn't feeling well the first couple weeks, it was no biggy.

I put either flavored Creamer or sf Syrup and milk in my coffee. Every dr is different with caffeine, so you'll have to go by ur own drs recommendations.

Good luck!

I just started drinking isopure at first I thought it was gross but I got used to it. It helps getting all your Protein and Water in. Good luck :)

I was served Decaf coffee in the hospital the morning after surgery

My doc says no coffee... :-(. Mainly because it's a diuretic and dehydrates you.

From what I read you can drink Decaf because it will not cause the dehydration.

I started with a Decaf about 3 weeks out. It didn't sound good till then. Worked up to half caf then regular. I am 6 months out and drink 2-3 cups per day.

coffee won't really dehydrate you unless you are quite short on liquids.

Wow, my doc said 3 months, (but i had an iced americano yesterday 2 months out and I want another one today!). I did take extra antacid though. I don't think it's a caffiene question, but rather an acid question.

My docs etc told us no caffeine after surgery whatsoever. With that said, I'm drinking 1-2 cups a day. No worries on my end, all seems to be going well. I am about 8 months out and started drinking coffee again back 2 months ago.

Decaf should be fine' date=' but my doctor said no caffeine for 3 months, after 3 months, only one caffeinated beverage per day.[/quote']

I have a terrible habit of Cuban coffee or triple shots of espresso...so one drink a day would be terrible...lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
