6 week emotional breakdown

Recommended Posts

I will be 6 weeks post-op this Wednesday and had my first emotional breakdown tonight and I didn't turn to food for comfort! I just wanted my mom, that's probably because I decided to go to school a million miles away from home but still food wasn't my comfort. My family and support system is what I wanted as I had my little crying meltdown. It felt so good not wanting to turn to my previous comforts, it was like I had overcome another obstacle in my journey. I knew these hormonal changes were going to throw me for a loop but wow I do not want another meltdown for a while no matter how well I handled things!

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a melt down. I hear things can be a little rough sometimes. I'm only 4 weeks out so I know my time is coming.

How exciting for you that you didn't turn to food in your need of comfort. That is really great. You are absolutely correct that you have come a long way in your journey. I only can hope that I'm as strong as you are when my time comes.

Hugs from across the miles.

I was told to expect this by my doc after surgery due to the amount of estrogen released from weight loss. In your situation you have other outside factors going on, so its not surprising that you had a melt down. Congrats on not turning to food!

We all have our days and you made it through. Our lives are different now and it gets harder when you don't have a support system. I feel your pain you are not alone. I know I made the right choice but at times our lives are more complicated than food. (: Keep ya head up.`

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
