I was glad to see my old, ugly "fat" clothes go to Good Will....and watch my closet, slowly but surely grow with more stylish, smaller clothes!!! :) I kept one pair of shorts, either a size 18 or 20. Every so often, I will drag them out and put them on. Two of me, literally, could fit in there comfortably!!!! Let go.....keep one thing to remind you where you were!!!! Congratulations!

I kept my biggest pair of pants. There's a pic of me in one leg of them in my gallery. I took my nicer things to my in person support group and let others shop from my trunk. That made me feel good because its such a hassle keeping up with clothes during the weight loss phase. ESP. Something like a coat. Who wants to spend on one when you know it will be too big the following year? I was fortunate to lose most of my weight over the warmer months. My new coats still fit because I was within a few lbs of goal when I bought them.

I gave away 7 black garbage bags of cloths. I did keep a pair of pants to remember where I came from. Its really great to pull them out and lay a pair of my new pants on top. I did hate to give away a few of my favs, but figure, someone else might like them as much, and I want to make room for something I really like that fits now. I had a regain last year, and had to buy some larger sizes... kept my smaller sizes in a bin... now that I have lost the regain I can now shop again in my bin! In the past I always kept my bigger sizes thinking I may need to go back to them sometime... but this time I let things go, made a new start.

I guess a half of me is worried about regaining...i have so many times in the past...the other half just did a mental math of how much i spent on them :o :o Damn plus size shopping is expensiveee...wont miss that for sure!!

same boat... I had a HARD time letting go... doesnt help that I was a shop-a-holic... so though I am a year out, I am still finding clothes in other closets & storage areas in my house...

whats even worse is I ad a shoe collection that could put Imelda Marcos to shame... I have since gone down to size 8.5/9 from a size 10/10.5....I literally have given away over 200 pairs of shoes... and still have more to get ride of...emotionally I cant seem to let some go even though they flop off my feet....

baby steps... I suspect that body dysmorphic issues come in to play & as soon as the mind catches up as far as body image, letting go of shoes & clothes will be easier

I found packing up old clothes relatively easy since they were so big on me and looked terrible. I do however want to find a few consignement stores to take some of the nicer items to. More $ for buying new, smaller clothes! :P

I had a hard time letting go of clothes that I got from my sister and mom who were both passed away. I had a little ... heart to heart with myself especially over a particularly nice dress that my sis loved but always made me look dumpy. When she was dying, she really wanted me to have that dress. She was tall and amazonish looking and could pull off this stately look but it was never flattering on me. I had this vision of some other women enjoying that dress as much as my sis did; knowing she could afford it at the Goodwill. I thought my sis would appreciate that someone could love that dress... all it ever did was hang in my closet.

As far as anything i bought... I was SO GLAD to see anything with a "W" or "X" in the sizing go out the door - I was happy to kiss em goodbye, good riddance make room for the cute stuff baby!

I have become a Ross Dress for Less and TJ Maxx fashionista - bargain city. Once I got out of the plus sizes I found cute things there and just bought small amounts at a time since I shrunk out of them so fast. After my plastics and my size/shapes stabilizes from that, i intend to invest in a higher end wardrobe because I LOVE dressing up my new normal size body!

Boy, since I have always been a "clothes horse" (better know as shopaholic!) I took all my expensive clothes to a local resale shop (high end) and made several hundred dollars!! I gave others to friends and friends of friends. At first, I kept a thing or two that I really loved then when time passed and I would look at them in the closet, I got sick of remembering! Ha! So, out they went too!

And I get VERY IRRITATED when I STILL get the Jessica London catalog in the mail (tried to stop several times!) and then HAPPY when I think about the fact that even the SIZE 12 is too large for me!!!!! :)

Love my size 8s!!!! No More Fat Clothes for Me! OR YOU!!!!!!!

I kept mine all packed up in boxes, for the longest time.I really did fear gaining weight back. I finally put them on here in the clothing exchange forum and took anything that wasn't perfect to Good Will. I sent all the nice stuff as I was going down in sizes to a girl on this board. She paid the cost of mailing it to her. It was a big box.

I kept the next size up from what I was wearing and I am glad I did. There is a bounce back range where most people do gain 5-10lbs from their lowest. I have some of my tinest clothes that I can't wear.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
