I'm 3 months out now, and down 42 lbs since pre-op. I find that I am down ONE size since then! Is that normal? LOL Loosing 42 lbs, quite a few inches...and only down one size? Are there any others out there like this too? It just seems usually more people are down at least 2-3 sizes after that? :P

I just hit 60# and had to get rid of most of my clothes. They fit ok until recently, then they went baggy. Strange. I guess it is different for everyone.

I'm about 3 weeks post-op, and my weight loss (including pre-op) is 40 lbs. I have found that I've only lost one size as well! I'm just enjoying being able to wear things that were crazy uncomfortable before, like jeans. :) We'll be dropping sizes in no time!

Thats how I started too. I was well over 40 pounds lost and only went down 1 size. I was a little confused but then it seemed like every 10 - 15 afterwards I went down another size. I started in a screaming 18 (I say screaming because I know the seams on my pants were in pain) and now Im in a super comfy 10, sometimes an 8. Im down 93 pounds so far. Just dont buy too many things until you are in a lower number if thats your goal.

The question is, wear the clothes you were wearing before surgery fitting just right, or a bit tight? If you were wearing them on the tight side, you are probably down 2 sizes. I know some of my stuff was like that. Now I'm wearing more baggy stuff to work because I'm sort of in between sizes right now and don't want to have to buy new work pants until I have too!

It will come!I You'll find that the more you lose the less you have to lose to change sizes. I don't know about you but it seems like it took forever for me to get out of my old stuff. I think I wore it way too tight so it had to go from too tight, to fitting, to too big. It is harder, for me, to know when to move down sizes. I don't wear hardly anything snug anymore because I don't have to. Before, when I was going UP through sizes, I never wanted to buy the next size up even if I needed to. Now, when my clothes are big and I put on some that fit, they feel too tight. I usually have to ask my husband how things look. Most of the time he will tell me that things look fine even if they feel a little tight. I actually think it is harder moving down in sizes. I've never had to fight this battle before but I have to say it is one that I dont mind fighting anymore!

One more thing, I started in a 26/28 and I'm down to a good 18 now, still some 20s and an occasional 16 depending on the size/brand. I am down almost 110 pounds. I was figuring I'd be down smaller than this by now too, but I'll take it as it comes!

I've lost 48 pounds since April including pre & post op weight and I'm still in the same size. About 5 more pounds and I should be able to go down one. I wear all stretchy denim pants and oversized knit tops and they were stretched out, then comfortable, now a little baggy. Just not baggy enough that they are falling off so holding on to them until the last second.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
