Looks like my surgery date is moving. I don't have any details yet. I think my heart has shattered into a million pieces. Looking at the first of January now. Worse day of my life is today.

On no! I'm so sorry!

Thanks for the well-wishes this week. I'm still really tired. They told me to be at the hospital at 6:30 for an 8:30 surgery on Monday morning. I got there at 6:17. We waited and waited and waited. It was after 5:00 PM before they took me to OR holding. I didn't have surgery until 6:00 or 7:00 pm and I didnt get to a room until nearly 10:00. I would definitely advise you to have someone stay with you at night. A lady from my Sunday school class stayed with me and if she hadn't, I don't know what I would have done. I had chest pains and they had to do an EKG and blood work in the middle of the night. I couldn't get comfortable. The catheter that I was dreading turned out to be a good thing because I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed to go to the bathroom on my own. They determined the chest pains were from too much Fluid. I was nauseated and dry heaving from the minute they tried to wake me up in recovery. I had a very hard time waking up and I was trying to tell them I was hurting and nauseated. The first few days were rough. I also weighed 8 pounds more when I got home from the hospital than when I left for the hospital. But that's gone now. They told me in OR holding that had me scheduled for 7:30 that morning and they'd all been there all day waiting for Dr. Cummins to get there from the Baptist hospital.

I had extreme nausea the first few hours out of recovery. It was the I've pain meds. I stick to the basics75% of the time but I enjoy normal food at almost 7 months out. I've been pretty consistent with my numbers but I'm in a bit of a stall. I'm losing plenty of inches not as much weight on the scale. It's not a number for me just a new start on life. I think it's important to look at the overall victories and not the scale. I love Cheetos and have even indulged in a fun sized snickers from time to time! Just follow the rules and it works. The hard part was over the 1st 24 hours for me.

Oh no, that's horrible you had to wait all day long! They told me that I'm Dr. Carroll's 2nd case of the day since I had a lower BMI than the 1st person. They told me to be at the hospital at 11 on Monday, hopefully it won't be much longer after that for my surgery. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Sure hope you are doing ok--so sorry that you had to sit all day waiting. Hope things are going well now. Give us a clue to how it's going!

I'm not just bouncing back from surgery like a pro, that's for sure. A little while ago, I got up, went to the kitchen and made a phone call and it left me all sweaty and shaky--just a phone call! I'm trying to walk some, but I'm so exhausted I can't do much. Yesterday I was really hungry and I was disappointed with that because I had hoped that removing so much of my stomach would help me to not get hungry.

I weighed 8 pounds more the day I came home from the hospital than the day I went in, but I've lost that 8 pounds plus about another 7 for a total of 15 since I've been home. I thought it was more than that yesterday, but the scale popped back up on me this morning. I'm trying to get my fluids and Protein in and it's tough. I just want to rest.

Well, I will say a prayer for you that things get better. From everything I've read, the first little while is bad for everyone. Make sure you get your fluids for sure-don't want you getting dehydrated. Take care of yourself!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
