What are you eating and drinking 10-12 weeks out ?

Recommended Posts

For some reason my post from yesterday didn't go through. But, I am wondering what people near about 10 weeks out are eating and drinking on a daily basis. I feel as though my tummy is tighter than it was at the beginning of my surgery. I get full very easily even more so than before. I am stalling again and I'm pretty sure it is because I am having trouble eating a lot during the day. It seems the only time I lose is when I eat small amounts of high fat/cal food. To me that seems unhealthy seeing as other people are eating all healthy foods and losing more weight than me...

So my question is can people who are 10 or more weeks out list meal by meal what they are eating everyday a long with how many hours you are waiting before your next meal ??

PLEASE ONLY PEOPLE THAT ARE 10+ WEEKS OUT THANK YOU.

I plan my meals so that I eat four meals a day, and they are each 20 grams of Protein. I use My Fitness Pal to track my protein and calories, but now I know exactly how much meat I need to eat to get in my protein which is 4 oz. I was weighing and measuring everything in the beginning, but now I don't need to because I know how much I need to eat to get in my protein. For Breakfast I have this breakfast casserole that I make with turkey sausage, eggs, veggies, and black Beans. For lunch I usually get a salad (chicken or salmon) and eat just the meat and a few bites of veggies. For my mid afternoon meal I eat the rest of the meat left from my salad or have some tuna fish or some turkey chili that I make and keep frozen. For dinner I eat meat and a few bites of veggies. Sometimes I will have a snack before bed if I am feeling empty and have finished drinking all my Water for the day, but only once or twice a week. I get in my 80 grams of protein every day and I am usually between 700-800 calories every day.

I am about 4 months out and I eat:

Protein shake for Breakfast or 2 egg omlette with veggies and Protein (meat)

lunch either a salad with chicken in it, a lean cuisine, or protein left over from dinner

dinner - about 3 oz of protein (chicken, chili, pork) about 1/4 cup of veggies and sometimes 1/4 cup of carbs depending if I can fit it in

Snacks - I choose from a hand full of nuts, cheese stick/lowfat, greek yogurt,

Most days - 800-1000 calories

My days are pretty boring. I'm I'll be 13 weeks out this coming Monday...

6:30AM Breakfast - nectar Fuzzy Navel Protein shake or BariWise Cereal with skim milk

12-12:30PM lunch - Greek Yogurt or tuna salad w/ cheese stick

5 or 6PM dinner - 2-3 oz of chicken or turkey, veggie burgers, lite turkey hotdogs. Will try sometimes to wrap stuff in a whole wheat fajita wrap.

10AM snack - string cheese, yogurt

Average 500-800 calories

I work in healthcare and need to be treating patients 85% of my day, so not a lot of time to take a break to have a snack 2x a day. I still struggle sometimes to get more than 2 oz of Protein in at a time and rarely have room for veggies. Although this week I'm a bit more comfortable with my meals so I might be able to start getting a bite or 2 in.

Hot green tea

I keep my calories @ 800 and under but sometimes I may go over

I workout 5 times a week

Ps I have found that when I have a little fat in my food, I tend to lose more weight than not having any fat.

I had surgery on June 11th. My meals are usually like this. Breakfast: sugar free Cappuccino or Tomato juice, greek yogurt. Mid morning: Protein Shake, lunch: cottage cheese or lettuce wrap (romaine lettuce leaf, spread with cream cheese, and a slice of deli turkey), mid afternoon: string cheese, Dinner: usually what my family eats, I eat the meat and veggie. Tonight it was half a piece of baked chicken and green Beans. If they are having something I cant eat, then I usually have some Soup or chili from the freezer. I make a big batch and freeze it in small containers. After dinner: Protein shake. I drink 2 shakes a day, and usually save my 2nd one for after dinner. This is my "trigger time" when I like to snack, so if I drink my protein shake, it keeps me from snacking on things I shouldn't have.

Thank you for your replies. These are all great ideas! I have to start planning better. In the mornings I am lucky to get down a cracker sandwich today I only got down a slice of pepperoni on my way out the door. Then the rest if the day consists of half a turkey cracker lunch able for lunch at work. And dinner is something from my college cafeteria (meat and veggie) barely even a 1/2 cup of food. And then I end up eating two small Snacks before bed. A mozz stick and two butterfly shrimp usually. I have recently broken my stall and I found out it was due to Constipation. I am down 39 lbs!

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
