Sleeved August 20th. Everything went pretty smoothly. Haven't had any problems with pain or nausea. My only trouble so far has been with extreme weakness and dizziness.

After my post-op checkup yesterday, my doctor told me that I'm not getting enough Water. Apparently the 60 oz of fluids I'm supposed to be getting daily cannot count the Protein shakes.

Honestly, I had been having great trouble up until that point even getting in two whole bottles of Water a day as well as two Protein Shakes (30 oz of each), and this just seems even more impossible now. I haven't even been able to get out of bed because I am so weak. The thought of forcing down more water makes me want to cry, but I don't want to risk losing anymore fluids haha.

So, what has everyone else's post-op liquids menu been like exactly? What and how much of everything have you been drinking during the liquids phase and how long did it last for? My NUT appointment isn't until Sept 4th, so I won't find out until then what's next for me.

sugar free slurpees were what worked best for me! They were so much easier! I started making slushes with my crystal light and nutria-bullet at home. They saved me. And the cold is good on the swelling in your sleeve.

Besides doing cold fluids such as Water with ice and the slushees, try switching it up in terms of texture and temperature, for example, Jello and warm fluids such as broth. There are so many differences in the instructions given by the various doctors regarding diet. I only spent 7 days on fluids and the Protein Shakes counted as fluids. Oh well, you will soon be on regular foods. Hang in there.

Right after surgery I started with the Isopure ready to drink stuff. It did help me for getting fluids and Protein. IDK if you're on any medications, but I had tobe taken off my diuretic by 10 days post op b/c of the dizzy and weak feeling. Abbout 2 days after stopping that I felt pretty normal again.

I've been seeing people on puréeds after the first week. I've tried some soft foods already and haven't had a problem with them at all. In fact, I felt much better afterwards. I think three weeks of straight liquids is probably more of my problem than the doctor's answer of more Water. I wonder if I should maybe test the waters with some egg drop Soup or watered down refried Beans.

I had a yogurt yesterday and it sit very well with me. As well as some thicker Soups with blended Beans and veggies.

In the beginning I drank a combination of half Isopure with half Water and a splash of juice to be able to get in both my Proteins and fluids each day. It's hard in the first few weeks, but it gets easier every week.

I had my surgery aug 21st and this all clear liquid diet is starting to make me crack. I also feel weak like you and had a little melt down earlier. I'm trying to hold on to the 15lb weight loss in one week but I don't know how long that can ride.

I've had homemade chicken Soup minus the chicken of course, Water, and diluted juices. I knew we had to get our 64oz in everyday but never realized how hard it would be. I really don't like Jello but I'm trying that tomorrow.

Good luck!

Yeah. I went squirrely in the end too. I made ice pops out of Vitamin Water zero. You have to finish them within a certain time so it forces you to get them in. Make them small though. If you make them 3 ounces a piece and eat one every half hour it makes it more manageable.

Any ideas of which stores sell it in person? I may check some Vitamin shops.

Good luck to you too! I was a huge drinker pre-op and didn't think I would have a problem at all with my fluids. I tried the crystal light slushy idea and that is making it a little less miserable.

I personally have never seen it in a store near where I live.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
