100 mile challenge

Howdy fitness freaks. Today marks the 30 day countdown till my long awaited TT surgery. Damn I'm excited. To Celebrate, I'm going to spend the next 30 days doing something I've never done before.....I'm going to run 100 miles in the next 30 days. Certainly other people have done it...even people on this forum have done it. But it will be my biggest monthly total to date. I never ran a step voluntarily until last year. Since then, my life and body have changed so much.....I can't imagine not having this great gift I've found. To me running is like a newly found super power....one that I never thought I'd have.

So I'm going to run 100 miles total between now and my surgery date of 9/30. If anyone wants to join me...walk, run, hike, bike .........whatever you can do.

BTW Laura-Ven has agreed to do the 100 miles with me.....so I'd appreciate y'all's help in making sure she does it. She needs your "motivation".

Well, doesn't look like I am gonna get to much walking in today. I have had the headache from hell all day. I didn't walk the warehouse at lunch as planned. I plan on jumping on the treadmill for a little while tonight but also plan on crashing early. That just means more to do tomorrow but never giving up! Great job everone on your numbers the last few days. Very impressive. I can't wait to get back to full strength so I can get my numbers up there. Best news is, I get my staples removed tomorrow and move to the pureed stage...real food! I am so tired if sweet shakes. I will still have 3 or 4 small shakes to get my protein but so glad to also have real food again. Remember, drink drink drink your liquids!

Ok 1 yes count it 1 mile today! I'm shot my body is shot so I took it easy today

By the way I think you are doing great! Walking and you still have staples in? Oh no, I would of been laying around moaning until they took em out :D

4 so far today. 2day total so far 9.2 miles.

I rode 14.8 miles tonight for a total of 27.4 leaving 73.6 miles left for my 100.

I'm with Laura-v on this one....I didn't start exercise of any kind until nearly 4 weeks after my surgery and it was done laparoscopically! I think you're doing amazing.

I'm totally on board! I know I'm late to this, but I've put in 6 miles since the day this thread started and I'm about to put in 4 right now. I love this! Great idea Butter :D

Good luck on your upcoming surgery too! I was checking out your before and afters, and BOY! What a transformation!!!

Logged 7 miles today....making my total 31 thus far. Keep up the great work everyone.

Ok' date=' Laura-Ven! LMAO. All that time for a response - I post it - and you got your answer in the meantime. Sheesh. ;)[/quote']

Lol! Well I know that you and fiddle should start your own challenge! You guys can do a 100 in 2 days!! :P

Maybe we should start a thread for 500?

The rest of us poor souls are going to suffer for that 100 :D

Except butter of course we all know he can.

Right butter? Out with the old in with the new :)

Well, I figured training for my 100 mile ride (and then actually riding 100 in a day) is probably about the same level of difficulty as running 100 miles in a month. I'm not positive... but that is my guess. It was BRUTAL the last time (plenty of suffering involved) and I expect it to be again. I just wanted to join the fun. You know, team effort. Riding can be a bit solitary.

- and it's true. Fiddle and Butter are machines!

Yes you are probably right..

Good luck, it will be nice to see your progress.:)
