So after two weeks of liquid diet' date=' prepping and planning for support and care for myself and my kids, as well as prepping myself mentally for this surgery, I woke up from anesthesia with no sleeve.

They found a tumor in the base of my stomach. I have to see a gastroenterologist and have a biopsy done. Once everything is ok and the tumor is removed I can proceed with the sleeve.

I'm sad, disappointed. I cried so much in the hospital, the nurses were so nice to me.

Good news is the surgeon said that from the look of it, it looks benign. Im calling the specialist tomorrow to see how soon they can get me in. Hoping for the best![/quote']

I am so sorry they were not able to do the sleeve for you but glad that they found the tumor. Looks like on time. I hope that you can be sleeved soon and your journey can begin!

I truly am sorry that you were not able to complete your surgery. I am sure this will all work out for you and everything happens for a reason. I know you don't want to hear someone say that right now but it is true. Hang in there and keep the faith!! I wish you the very best outcome with your stomach and your sleeve procedure!!

Thank you everyone for the support. It still feels so surreal. I can't believe it didn't happen, but I need to focus on the other aspect and hopefully be sleeved soon. Thanks again!

Fantastic!!! When you call the coordinator; Don't forget to ask for the two for one operation special pricing! They could do both operations with one anesthesia, one operating room, and heck the same five small laparoscopic incisions - just different specialist surgeon teams - one recuperative hospital stay, all obvious savings!

Good Luck with your sleeve do-over!

This is the classic dark cloud - silver lining scenario! if you weren't going to get sleeved it could have been years before you had symptoms from your little unwanted guest. fingers crossed for a good outcome, quick recovery and a sleeve asap. :) janet

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
