BOILED PEANUTS! AWESOME!

Recommended Posts

I was trying to find a source for a large quantity of green peanuts last year. (It takes forever to fill the little plastic bags when you're making groceries if you want a whole bunch.) I stopped by the peanut man, and he sent me to Restaurant Depot. I was able to buy a big mesh crawfish bag full to boil, eat, and freeze, so I had them all year. (You can freeze them before or after you boil them — it seems to work fine either way.)

It's that time of year here in the south' date=' green peanuts are out in the produce stands. For those of you who have never had them, let me explain. When peanuts are first pulled, they are green(not literally green) just raw and fresh and the shells are still fairly tender, they are really big in size due to the moisture they still hold. It's really easy, you just wash them well, put them in a large pot cover them with Water add salt to taste and let boil for a couple of hours until they are soft an the salt Water had soaked into the shell. Really soft and easy to eat and a great source of Protein . I have not had my sleeve done yet(oct.) but

I'm thinking it will set ok in my tummy once I am on soft to solid foods. Here in Louisiana a lot of people like to add Cajun crab boil to give them that spicy kick. Just be careful not to use too much salt.[/quote']

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! From one Lousiana gal to another!!! I didn't even think of these for protein! I start my soft foods this weekend and boiled peanuts will be the perfect Protein snack:)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
