Post Op Day 9 question

Recommended Posts

Seeking some advice.....

I am nine days post-op and I am still learning the signals my new stomach is sending me. I've been healing really well and the past three days my energy level is better than normal. I've been getting my Protein in via shakes while I'm on full liquids and tried a new brand of Protein powder today. Since then I have been insanely nauseous (reminds me of nausea during the early stages of pregnancy). Has anyone else experienced this? Would this just be due to the brand change?

I'm 23 days post op most of the Protein Shakes I drunk before surgery I can't drink them now so I'm making my on with Protein Powder, half a banana and 1 or 2 pieces of watermelon with 1% milk. I blend it all together this is the only way I can drink a shake now. Also I can't drink strawberry shakes they really hurt but vanilla I drink it with no problem.

I haven't been able to do Protein Shakes at all since I had surgery (10 weeks). My suggestion would be to watch for anything with milk (whey products especially). You may have a tolerance to the new shakes or you may need to switch up the flavor.

Have you tried Premier Protein shakes? They sell them as Sam's and costco. Sam's is cheaper by about $6. These have 30g of Protein and quite good. It is the only one I really ever drink anymore and a lot of people have had success with them. good luck to you! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
