Mega' date=' you had to have an NG tube and a catheter? Oh my. I hope you feel better. That sucks. {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}[/quote']

Yup :-( wasn't supposed to have the catheter but I've still been having trouble peeing on my own (urinary retention is an unfortunate side effect of anesthesia)... Thank goodness the NGT is out as well- that was miserable and made my throat really sore... Hoping the JP drain will be next to go, fingers crossed for today!

My fingers are crossed for you. It's crazy how different all of our surgical experiences are here. Once the JP is out, you will feel much better!

Ahh.bbq sauce... I can smell it LOL... good luck... eveyday I'm on this awful pre op diet I wake up in the morning hoping to be a size seven! I keep thinking about all the stuff I used to eat and I'm only getting like 500-600 calories now and shouldn't I just be skinny yet? That even sounds stupid to me... but whatever.. a girl can dream!

It's all about being dedicated and committed to the lifestyle changes..the surgery is not to be taken lightly- that's why the whole process to be approved takes so long. After putting my body through the surgery, and having my friends and family by my side, I cannot imagine letting myself go downhill again. This is my second chance, and I feel so blessed and fortunate to have been given one :) WE CAN DO THIS!

No you did not make a mistake girl!!!

Though we have all had different struggles and outcomes postop, we must keep our goal in mind. You have to drink your water. I'm still struggling with my liquids as well but vow to do better. You are definitely not alone!! Be strong.

Hey all. The pain was more than I expected as well!! I've been urinating every 2 hours and thankfully I didn't have a lot of gas pain. I have however had my fair share of nausea and my face is hot but I have a normal temperature.

I've walked the hallways six times. Passed the swallow study and just had my first meal: 1/2 Popscicle, 2 cubes of Jello, 5 spoons of broth and 3 oz of Water over the past 2.5 - 3hours.

I'm being discharged at 6 pm.

I hope everyone's experience continues to improve.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
