Do your Protein Shakes count toward your liquid consumption? I'm day-4 post-op and struggling to get 64 oz of Fluid in plus 60 grams of Protein.< /p>

No it doesn't. It is hard but it gets better.

My plan does count the Protein shakes...different Drs do different things. I suggest you call your nutritionist to know for sure. :)

Mine count, too. There are lots of foods that my doctor considers both Protein and fluids.

yep, mine counts them too. The point of tracking fluids is to keep you from getting dehydrated, and Protein Shakes do just fine at hydrating you, so no reason not to count them.

Yes, my Protein Shakes were also included in the daily 64 oz of fluids. I'm a little over 3 weeks post-op and it was hard to get all them fluids in. I focused more on the Protein shakes and Water. It will definitely get better! Hang in there and sip, sip, sip :)

add me to the ones whose plans count Protein Shakes as liquids...also, my dr told me not to worry much about reaching the Protein and liquid goals the first couple of weeks...I was only getting in about 40 to 50 ounces of liquids and 40 or 50 g of protein, and he was ok with that

No, sadly! But I never felt hungry. ;-)

My Protein Shakes (or soups) do not count towards my 60oz of Water I'm supposed to be getting daily. Just found this out at my post-op appointment yesterday. It was too much before, now I'm really struggling.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
