Lansoprazole and Other Medications

Recommended Posts

Hi Sleevers. I was just wondering how soon after your sleeve operation you guys started taking 'normal' (i.e. insoluble) Lansoprazole and other tablets as opposed to the soluble or liquid versions.

I am pre op but my surgeon said I can start taking my normal prescriptions and will be offered liquid or pill form of tylenol two days after surgery. I suppose every surgeon is different, it was my question though, I have two anti depressants and I need to get one switched to not extended release, however I was not wanting to have to crush them.

I'm two weeks out and I still have to crush my meds.

I cut them in half and take them with applesauce or pudding. I still take liquid hydrocodone for pain.

They stopped most of my meds in the hospital but the ones I took when I got home I had no problem swallowing. Included pill and capsule form. Dr said it should not be a problem and it wasn't:)

I had pills in the hospital, the day after my surgery - I also broke them into two halves to make swallowing a little easier. Here in the UK, I was never offered liquid medication. I didn't have any problems with the tablets.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
