Scared Shitless-8 years out banded rapidly gaining weight

Recommended Posts

I am sort of a similar situation and I definitely understand. My choice right now is to get refilled and just deal with the side effects of vomiting, etc. or remove the band and hope that my insurance will cover me for the sleeve three months after. It's so stressful, I completely appreciate that. The thought of gaining weight rapidly once the band is removed is so depressing. I wish you all the best and deep down know that for me, I need to get this band out..

Dear PrettyPuffy Why don't you ask your Doctor to ask your Ins Co. to approve you for both Surgeries? This is what my Doctor did. He explained that he was taking the Band out, and waiting 3 months for good tissue to grow and than doing Gastric Sleeve. they than gave approval for Both Surgeries. Can't hurt....JewelJ

You are exactly right. That is what I need to ask them to do. I know that by having prior approval for both procedures I will feel so much more relaxed about the time between and less likely to freak out and go on an eating binge.

It is to the Doc advantage to do this... He is getting two surgeries out of it......Let me know how it works out...If my Doc did it, I'm sure he knows what to say in the letter.. I'm sure he knows what they want to hear.....good luck

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
