Recommended Posts

I work in a high stress unit at a hospital so my surgeon told me to take 6-8 weeks off and when I'm ready to go back then I can but ill be on light duty and no lifting of anything like that.. 8 weeks or more so ill take this and use a stay at home vacation!!

I have a desk job, but I took about 4 weeks off, and I needed every bit of it. just depends on the person and job.

When I had my surgery I took 2 weeks off and went back to work . Which was good because I was starting to get cabin fever. It was just a little hard to get used to being on my feet 8 hours a day because I hadn't been in soo long.

I was sleeved on July 23rd. I took two weeks off, the second of which I worked from home (executive level, so time off is a challenge at best). I probably returned a week too soon, but I survived! I spent the next two Saturdays exhausted, but I've been seeing energy on Sundays! The more active I am, the better I feel. Walking regularly helps.

I had surgery on 5/23 and went back to work part time on 7/15 and full time on 7/22. I work in a hospital and there was no way I could have handled my job any sooner. It is hard to predict how long it will take to get to the stage where you are feeling ok. I took longer than most, so I always like to give that side of the story since so many people talk about going back to work in less than a week.

BTW - in 2012 I had by gall bladder removed laproscopically and went back to work in 5 days. I fully expected to be feeling fine after 3 weeks and to even take a vacation before going back to work. That didn't work out as I expected at all.

Good luck to you, and I hope you feel terrific after your scheduled amount of time off!

I was sleeved on a Tuesday, presented a workshop on Saturday and began teaching on Monday. Saturday was a little rough, but was fine by Monday. I was just a little sore at that point and didn't do much reaching and bending to the ground.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
