good afternoon lbters! so i was lying in bed last night thinking about all the information and support i've gotten on this site...and i started to wonder how many people have found this site before surgery, and how many people found it after being banded. needless to say, i had an ice cold diet coke before retiring, so my mind was quite alert! i thought i'd start a poll-how exciting!

I found it before. This site prepared me very well for all that would happen. I can't imagine having the surgery without having had all this knowledge before hand.

This board has been very informative. It's nice to hear of everyone's success stories, along with those that are struggling.

No one has the same circumstances and this board reminds me of that fact. (does that mean I'm not abnormal?!)

Hope to be banded the end of February.

I will be 60 days smoke free by then.

21 days no cigarette!

If I hadn't had friends on LBT to talk me down from the ceiling while I fought the insurance company - I might not have survived!

Plus - I knew all the stuff that would happen to me before surgery - so there were no surprises...

It's all good. Love LBT.

I never would be going through with this if it weren't for all of the 'real life' information that I've learned here.

Thank you all!

BEFORE BANDING! I've been pointing friends here ever since.... I just wish they would come over and start learning for themselves!

Before banding. And I'm so glad. I got such good info here, to go along with what my surgeon's information.

And the support is great.

Before banding, I was looking for info from real experience, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Thanks to all of you for providing that

I was here before banding and as soon as I found it I informed my surgeons office so they can tell other band-wannabe's. I was totally prepared for anything my band could throw at me - thanks to this site.

Several months before being banded. I wanted to hear what it was like from people who had it, outside of the two people I knew personally.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
