I got this from the "Eating well after weight loss surgery" book. I've modified for my usual shortcuts :P

juice

1 c evaporated fat free milk

1/2 Lb shrimp shelled, cleaned deveined

salt

Pepper

( I added paprika)

Directions

1. Spray large saucepan with cooking spray and cook onions, garlic & ham/bacon until soft and brown

2. Add lemon pepper, clam juice, evaporated milk, cauliflower and shrimp and let it come to a boil, stirring often. Cook until shrimp are pink.

3. Add salt, pepper, paprika.

4. Puree in vitamix or blender.

YUM!

Yum indeed. I have already printed this recipe out and plan on trying it when I graduate to this phase. I've always been a fan of any kind of crab/shrimp bisque and this one sounds dee-lish!

It is amazing. My kids loved the taste too. They have NO idea it had cauliflower in it :)

Wow... sounds yummy. How about packing some up in a container and shipping it to Orlando on dry ice. Special delivery !!!! Any recipe that includes more then 3 ingredients and uses more then 1 cooking utensil is too much for me. Tonight was going to be Campbell's 98%FF broccoli cheese soup. Maybe I can grind up some shrimp and add it.

I had to sit on my hands to keep from running to Amazon and immediately buying this cookbook!! :P

I wish I could! I love to cook and let me tell you, we will be having a LOT of leftovers. I could barely finish 3 oz of it, R finished 6 oz.

It's got some good stuff. I also made a chicken mushroom soup from it that was amazing.

Maybe I should take a 2nd look and let my husband see what he thinks. He does all the cooking. We switched roles about 3 yrs ago and I never lift a spoon or rattle a pot anymore. Still love to collect recipes for him to try, tho.

I also made the mushroom and chicken Soup and pureed that. VERY flavorful if you like mushrooms. Separately, I posted a Lobster Bisque I made up yesterday on this forum that was very tasty.

Thank u so much, before surgery I wasn't a kitchen person but I've made it a must for me if i want to be successful, so I bought the book!! :D thanks again!

I hope you enjoy it. I can't imagine going through all these weeks of liquids just drinking shakes. The Soups have provided a nice variety. I posted a lobster bisque that I made up that is super simple and very yummy. I hope try that too. Happy cooking :)

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, I'm on full liquids starting tomorrow, and I plan to make this. Just one question: The bottle of clam juice- is it 8 oz? I think that's all I saw in the store, but wanted to check. Thank you.
