  3. Seems like life is always throwing us curve balls when we least expect it....this entire past year has just been one big nightmare that I just want to have end...I'm praying that this surgery will mark the beginning of a new and better chapter in my life. Surgery is set for this Thursday morning so please keep me in your prayers that all goes well...

  7. I'm becoming a complete nut job because I'm so freaked out about the surgery. Truly thought today was Thursday and left my work laptop at home but didn't realize that until I got to work....would have lost my head somewhere along the way if it wasn't permanently attached... Yeah I'm obsessing about what all do I want to eat before the surgery...definitely a good filet minion because who knows if my stomach will ever tolerate that in any form other than ground up and that is definitely not the same...

  9. WOW 18 pack a day and no cravings since surgery? That's fantastic news and congratulations! There is hope
  10. Never been to South Carolina before but heard it is beautiful. I'm having quite the day today...truly believed it was Thursday so didn't wear jeans and then forgot to bring my laptop to work...so not good....

  13. Hi Pammy0425! Where are you located in Houston or somewhere nearby? Be great to talk in person but if not we certainly have a plethora of other options! Let me know!
  14. Thank you all for taking the time to share your thoughts on this subject. I know that drinking so much diet soda is not healthy for me and I would rather have a healthy life free from the clutches of bad foods than keep drinking diet drinks... I just hope that my body can tolerate some carbonation so I can keep drinking my Sodastream concoctions...

  17. Great points buzzly36! Really makes me question and wonder what is the right answer? Am I endangering my success rate by not doing the pre-op diet that MY doctor says I don't need to do??? Help??
  18. Will I ever be able to have carbonated drinks again? There is conflicting guidance -- some say it will definitely stretch your stomach so DON'T do it and my doctor says no it won't stretch your stomach. I'm having surgery on November 12th and getting very anxious as I drink carbonated drinks ALL DAY and NIGHT. Majority is from carbonated tea made with my Sodastream but also from Diet Coke and Diet A&W Rootbeer. I discovered the joy of the Sodastream back when I did the HCG diet and they said I needed to drink a gallon of Water a day....just adding some carbonation to water/tea makes it possible for me to drink that much in one day and actually enjoy it. I look forward to having Diet A&W rootbeer everynight before going to bed and am freaking out that I won't be able to have it anymore.... SO all that said post-sleevers, what has your experience been with carbonation? Can your new sleeve tolerate it? Has anyone actually had their sleeve stretched from drinking too much carbonation?
  19. My surgery is scheduled for November 12th in Houston, Texas. Anyone in Houston getting sleeved that month? Would love to hook up and help each other get through this without completely loosing it

  21. I'm scheduled for surgery 2 weeks from tomorrow and my doctor is not requiring me to do a pre-op diet. Part of me is relieved but another part of me is scared since it seems like everyone else does the pre-op diet. Anyone else not have to do the pre-op diet?
  22. I've been using a bipap machine for almost 2 years now and have surgery planned for November 12, 2015. Once I start loosing weight, when will I know I don't need to use the machine anymore?
  23. Hi I'm a native Houstonian and will be sleeved on November 12th. I'm also a degreed professional but don't have any children...just 2 new kittens Really could use a mentor and friend who understands what I'm going through now and will be very soon. Family is completely unsupportiveI SO scared and feeling a bit lost and concerned as to whether or not I'm making the right decision... Truly hope to hear back from you! Joyce
  24. I'm going to be sleeved on November 12th as well in Houston, Texas. It would be awesome if we could help each other survive the post-op craziness.
