I am now 8 months out and without a doubt this is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I have had amazing support from my family and without my husbands continual support this would not have been possible. I had my sleeve done in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia I am an Australian and have been here now two years. When I decided I needed to do something drastic I went to IMC and sought out the baraiatric centre and made enquiries to see the surgeon. Dr Bukhari was the most amazing doctor. He said he would only do the sleeve and asked me to have a few tests done to make sure everything was ok to proceed. I had the tests done at the end of November and had my operation in December 2012. No pre op diet, no psych tests just let's do it. Dr Bukhari has had the operation himself so can really relate to everything I was going through. The operation was very easy and I have had no complications. I go for check ups every three months, where I have blood tests done to ensure I am getting enough Vitamins, Iron etc all of which are perfect. I even came off my blood pressure medication about the months ago. To anyone who is contemplating having this procedure done JUST DO IT! I have attached a couple of before photos as well as current photos.

You look great. We are at the same point. Just curios to know how much you have lost. What was your starting weight and what do you weigh now? I am only down 80 lbs in this 8 months. Not eating correctly anymore. Have to get back on track to get to my goal.

Thank you everyone. I started at 104kgs and am down to 74kgs. I am just dropping it slowly and steadily. I don't stress if I haven't lost for a week or so as it soon moves again. I eat whatever I want but mainly Protein, fruit and veges. I don't count my calories either I have just changed to a more healthy way of eating :)

Only 80lbs? Seriously.. That is a lot! I'm 8 months and not nearly at that amount. Good job everyone!

I am 8 months out also and have lost 82 lbs with 17 more to go. I haven't kept up with my Vitamins because I always get sick after them. I notice I bruise so easy! I did just start Zumba 3 times a week so I hope that helps with tightening of the arms and legs.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
