Very concerned about success and being a stress eater.

Recommended Posts

I saw the psychologist today. Not good. He recommended that I postpone because I am a stress eater. He said I need to find another coping strategy or he fears failure in the future.

I am scheduled for aug 26. I don't really want to postpone. I want to start feeling better.

Please any recommendations.

Find an activity you love and replace eating with it. I can't even get my protein/liquid requirements in 11 weeks out so mass eating isn't an issue for me. Hopefully it won't be for you either.

I've replaced my nervous eating with kickboxing. It's a great thing!

Find another psychologist. I'm gonna take some liberties here and guess that most of we sleevers are stress eaters (and sad eaters, and happy eaters, and bored eaters -- you name it!). Stress eating doesn't get any better by continuing to eat, oh and stressing over the eating!

I'm not going to lie. I'm am obsessed with every calorie I put in my mouth :) that can be stressful. I think you should get a second opinion though. If they say the same thing then maybe they are right. If the new one signs off then make a mental note, have the surgery then pay attention to everything you eat and why. I am a stress eater too. But post surgery, I will be darned if I eat any extra calories because I had major surgery and I don't want to fail. Hopefully I won't fall back into the pattern later. Good luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
