I wanted to know how some of you decided to pay in Mexico. I have an appointment to meet with the doctor and get initial blood work done on the 19th of this month and will then set up a surgery date in Monterrey with Dr. Graciano de la Fuente Reta.

I am paying with cash, obviously, but I wanted to know what to do because I have several options.

I can pay with dollars or,

I can pay with pesos or,

I can deposit into his bank account here in Texas.

What did you guys do??? Thanks guys.

Most doctors will specify how they want to be paid, but if it is not brought up, ASK before you go. Many credit cards have a huge (like 15%) surcharge when used in Mexico (Capital One and I believe AmEx do not do this but check).

I put down a deposit with my credit card and took a cashiers check (in USD) for the balance.

I realize a credit card was not one of the options you listed, but perhaps they will accept certain cards. Check to see. If you use a credit card in order to get points, just call ahead to the card company to make sure there is no large surcharge or to try to get any surcharge waived.

The doctor's firm should specify and in my case a cashiers check from my bank. This is not a problem just speak to your coordinator or doctor's firm they will assist you. Best wishes and good luck.

I wired the money into the account the company specified and gave me all the information to do so. They should really tell you.

I paid a 10% deposit on our debit card. When we arrived last Wednesday, I had the remaining balance in a cashiers check. No problem whatsoever.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
