Q: how you y'all use Quest bars?

Recommended Posts

I'm eating my first one now-- pretty good actually, I was afraid it would be too hard or too chewy.

I cut mine in 1/2 and eating 1/2 as lunch.

What do y'all usually do? Whole? Half? Meal? 1/2 as snack?

I'm 9 weeks out and can only eat half of one of those at this point. They were my favorite until i discovered "Oh Yeah! Victory" bars. I highly recommend giving them a try.

I've never heard of those. Do they have as much Protein?

My doc wants me to slowly switch from shakes to bars (something I was very nervous about). But this Quest bar seems pretty easy to eat so far.

Let me say this... I'm only nervous bc they seem one step closer to a candy bar, and I don't ever want to feel as though I'm eating a candy bar.

Relax just because you had the sleeve doesn't mean you'll never eat a candy bar ever again.. Feeling deprived sets you up for binge mode..

I'm not depriving myself. Im not afraid it'll lead me to candy. I don't want to feel like I'm doing bad things to myself my eating Protein bars. The shakes make me feel like I'm doing something healthy.

On another note, I hope I do never eat candy again.

Just remember everyone is different. Would you say this to an alcoholic??.. relax, Don't worry, you'll mess up one day...you'll binge again.

To me a candy bar isn't just a candy bar. A drink isn't just a drink. A line of coke isn't just a line.

It's ok that you are "lmao" at my trouble. I know we are all different.

I was just asking how ppl prefer to eat their Protein bars.

I loved the Quest bars at first but now I hate them and they make me feel nauseous. And I bought three cartons of the damn things at GNC after I first tried them. I've eaten about half of what I bought but often take just a few bites and throw the rest out.

This is my first time trying them. I like them so far. I'm hoping they are a good solution to busy work days. And hopefully by the time I get tired of them, I'll be getting enough Protein from regular food. Thanks!

How are the "Oh Yeah! Victory" bars better than the Quest ones? Is the texture different?

Don't know if I helped you. My suggestion is that if you like them and they satisfy you then they are certainly a good source of Protein and fibre so go ahead and eat them as a meal substitute or snack. Some people think they have too many carbs but that's not my issue. Just don't buy a ton of them like I did in case you get sick of them after a while.

Re: the candy-bar issue. I don't think the Quest bars will set you off on a candy bar binge. Fear not. I consider myself a sugar addict. Many people have food addictions here on the forum. I try, with limited success, to not eat candy and sweets or anything that is likely to set off my binge-mode. However, I didn't get this surgery thinking I would never eat a piece of candy or cake or pie or ice cream again. That would be unrealistic for me. I try to eat what I want in moderation knowing that if I choose to eat something sugary it might slow my weight loss. that is really the beauty of the sleeve vs RNY bypass surgery. The sleeve really forces you to eat much smaller portions of whatever you choose. when I do give in to the sugar demon it's not the end of the world. I find I don't like sweets as much as I did pre-surgery probably because it makes me feel crappy, both mentally and physically.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
