I would talk with your doctor about it--it could be hypoglycemia or another condition that only your doctor can test for and treat.

You should check your blood sugar when you are feeling shaky- your sugar could be either too low or too high. If you don't have one, you can buy a glucometer at stores like Wal-Mart or Target or at any drug store- they are not that expensive. I get low blood sugar when I don't eat enough Protein during a meal and it has been several hours since I have eaten. When I am feeling shaky, I eat something with a lot of protein like a piece of meat or cheese or an egg, and I feel better in about 10 minutes. But, I have dealt with this my whole life, so I know what works for me. If you are a diabetic and on medication, you might need your medication adjusted, which needs to be done by your doctor. The shaky feeling could also be coming from too much caffeine.

I have those symptoms when I go too long without eating. I have to eat every 2-3 hours and at one point I did test my blood sugar during those shaky times because I wanted to see if it was really low blood sugar and sure enough it was a 49! Unfortunately my son has hypoglycemia also but thankfully my 2 girls and husband don't. I don't test my blood sugar anymore but I can definitely tell when I need to eat something. I eat a balanced diet with carbs, Protein, and fats. I keep my carbs around 100-150g and that's what my NUT wants me to do. My NUT advises against low carb if you have hypoglycemia.

Suck on a piece of hard candy, see if that helps. Non-sugar free, like a mint.

I have 5lbs til goal... this is day 5 of shakiness and my PCP wants me to up my intake if carbs because hypoglycemia is suspected... Keeping a food journal and taking my BS now until 8/29 when I go for more testing.... Thanks again!

Your insurance may cover the cost of a meter, but check your levels. It can then guide you on the amount of protein, carbs and sugars you need.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
