I was sleeved on the 11th' date=' I know this is going to be one of the best things that I have ever done for myself but d@m, it was definitely no walk in the park! I came home yesterday afternoon and the pain was terrible, thank God for pain meds, my husband, and knowing that I needed to get up and walk. Thanks to all of the valuable information that I have read in the forums on this site I knew pretty much what to expect and what to do, if I hadn't learned all that I've learned here I would have probably lost it yesterday. Today I am better, still have some pain but I am able to walk 'laps' in the house(slowly), sipping my Water with Protein Powder in it, and I had a little creamed and thinned Soup (a very little!). Looking forward to the future...the way I see it isn't "no pain no gain"...it's 'NO PAIN NO LOSS'!!! Good luck everyone[/quote']

I also was sleeved on the 11th. Yesterday afternoon was my up day. Today not so much. Although I was given cream of wheat at Breakfast this morning and what I did have sat well!! Lets hope these gas pains go away ASAP!!

Best of luck

Hi sleeve buddies, I just got back to the Marriott after my surgery. Here is my story, hope it helps anyone with the jitters! My surgery was 9/11 with Dr Ponce and it didn't start until 5:30pm. I was a little nervous waiting, but I walked around and found lots of friendly people in different stages of recovery. My surgery lasted longer than planned because they found and repaired a hiatal hernia.

The first 24 hours are the worst. Everyone is different as to what discomforts they have, but it seems pretty universal that you feel awful, but pain meds and nausea meds are given regularly so that does help get you through. The second day is like night and day, I showered in the morning and put my own nightgown on, then walked and felt better and better through the day. I still got the regular medicine through the day, and an extra pain booster at night. The second night I could lay on my side which really helped. I had asked them to put off the leak test for a day because even sucking on ice chips made my stomach cramp up the first day. I had the test this morning and it was no problem at all. Now, 48 hors after surgery I am sipping my chicken broth at the hotel and feel about 75% of normal.

The whole experience at the Marriott and the hospital Mi Doctor has been better than expected. Let me know if you want to ask about anything!

I got the call and I'm scheduled to go in at 1:00pm on Monday, I wish it was earlier so I could hurry and get it over with

So glad to hear you are mending well. I arrive tomorrow evening at the Marriott and if you are up for it, it would be nice to meet you. Who did your surgery? Dr. Ortiz is performing mine at the Hospital Mi Doctor. I'm nervous but excited.

Sorry I just reread your message and I'm sorry I realized you did name your surgeon. Don't mind me- I have liquid diet brain lol

Haha! I love that saying...liquid diet brain. OMG, I am definitely stealing that from you and using it. 5 days on this liquid diet and my work people are thinking I'm nuts. :) I've never felt so out of it in my life. Only 9 more day to go for me...ugh!

Good luck to you!!!
