I'm in my 2 week post op liquid diet. I don't feel any restriction I can eat Popsicle and drink all day and not feel full. I don't get an upset stomach or anything. Is this normal

Absolutely. Not only is your stomach farther along in it's healing than it was in the first two weeks, but you aren't consuming solid foods yet. Trust me, each new food type introduced WILL bring you restriction. I'm 6 weeks post-op now and eat MUCH less food in one sitting than I did in the earlier days - that is, of course, when I choose solid foods like chicken!

Yes, it is normal. I started eating chicken at 2 weeks out, but wasn't able to drink too much. Btw, i'm 3 weeks and 3 days out today and eating normal foods.

As long as you pace yourself with your fluids you probably won't feel full because they will go through you quickly, there is nothing there that has to break down. Once you start on your solids you will notice a big difference on what it takes to make you feel full! Congrats!!!

I was on liquids for a month. I would say you are lucky not normal. It was very hard for me to get all my fluids in because of the restriction even with Water.< /p>

FYI - I was amazed at my 6 day post-op checkup when I told my doctor that I had consumed 24oz of Water in the hour drive to his office. I thought that was a lot for someone so recently out of surgery. My doctor didn't bat an eye, and applauded me for having an easy time with liquids.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
